First, as a sister and a friend, then as a mother myself, I have seen the medical system sew fear and doubt into women regarding their body's capability to achieve what it was intended to. The truth is, childbirth is both natural and miraculous. I believe that every woman has the right to decide what interventions she wants to use in childbirth without the use of fear, but instead through true informed consent. I continue learning daily how best to help each new mama, both through lived experiences and through research, and will gladly share my knowledge. I have a great love of serving and caring for new mamas and their newborns. It's a passion I've had since a teenager. My first postpartum client came along at 18 yrs old - before the word doula was ever known. I have 40yrs of experience working with newborns, new parents, as an educator, postpartum doula, nanny, lactation educator, and newborn care specialist. I have worked in the 3rd largest hospital in the country within the maternity unit as a nurse assistant/patient tech. I also sleep condition and train babies to sleep well at night as long as the parents follow through with instructions when I am not there. Baby can sleep between 10-12hr straight. My name is Jordan Towns and I have served the role as an Emotional Support Coach/Companion for over two decades to women and men encountering a full range of life encounters. It was in Spring 2023 that my journey to become a Doula was initiated and what a journey indeed it has been.
