Mozeke is a graduate of Mercy In Action College of Midwifery where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Midwifery degree. She also has a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Masters of Arts in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management from Columbia College Chicago. I love for my families to have all of the facts and then they make the best decision for them. I enjoy journeying with families through birth and postpartum. I found my way to being a doula after the birth of my second baby. Though my pregnancy and birth were perfectly planned and perfectly played out, I had nothing setup and prepared for postpartum. I am an English teacher of seven years and my husband and I have one son. My path to birth doula work began with my own birth experience; having a doula during my pregnancy was so helpful to me and made me feel much more knowledgeable and in control of my birth. Unfortunately, the birth of my son did not go as planned for many reasons: my doula could not attend my birth, I preeclampsia complications, and my son was in a breech position. Birth is a transformation, but it can also come with trauma. My experience compelled me to become a doula to hopefully help other women have better birth experiences than I did.
