Hi, I’m Billee - toddler mama + the doula behind Wild and Rooted Birthwork! I believe pregnancy and birth are sacred experiences. I’m not here to tell you how to give birth. I’m here to offer calm, grounded, evidence-based support on you journey into parenthood. Before becoming a doula, I spent over 10 years in the childcare world, supporting children and families in all seasons of life. That experience shapes the way I care for both parents and babies. It taught me how to bring patience, intuition, and respect into the birth space.

Billee is the best things that happened to me and my husband! When I say I couldn’t have done my natural birth without her I’m not lying. From the very first consultation call Billee and I connected so well, her first visit to our house felt like we were talking to a friend and kid you not I think we could have stayed talking for hours! She helped both my husband and I be prepared for labor and it made all the difference. I had a natural birth at the Baylor Dallas Hospital and Billee was with us every step of the way. She has the most beautiful heart and she’s beyond supportive. I will forever brag about her and when I say you need a doula I mean it!! Billee will forever be a huge part of our birth story and will be given all the credit she deserves. I’m so grateful I found her! I will say it again, we could have not been able to do it without her. Thank you Billee for all you did for us!

I’ve always been drawn to birth and babies—what started as childhood curiosity grew into a calling after the birth of my first child. In 2020, I became a certified birth doula, and today I serve families across the Dallas/Fort Worth area with personalized support through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Whether you’re planning a hospital, home, or surrogacy journey, my role is to support your choices and vision—offering practical help, emotional encouragement, and steady, grounded advocacy when it matters most. What makes my care unique is that I’ve experienced birth from multiple sides—I’ve given birth naturally with a midwife and have also served as a surrogate, helping bring a long-awaited baby into the arms of hopeful parents. These experiences give me a deep respect for how personal and sacred birth truly is. When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me baking sourdough, doing something hands-on and “crunchy,” or creating alongside my kids—but at the heart of it all, birth work isn’t just what I do, it’s part of who I am.

Katie at Little Lilacs Birth Services was absolutely incredible! From the very beginning of my pregnancy, she was there to guide me through every step, patiently answering my million questions and offering expert advice that always made me feel supported and confident. She helped us revisit and refresh all the birth techniques we had learned before, giving us the tools and reassurance we needed to achieve another unmedicated birth with confidence. During labor and birth, Katie was calm, attentive, and completely present. Her support went beyond just guidance—she anticipated our needs, encouraged us when we felt unsure, and helped create a birth experience that felt empowering and safe. Beyond her professional expertise, Katie has a warmth and kindness that makes her feel like a lifelong friend. She truly cares about the families she works with and goes above and beyond to make the journey from pregnancy to birth as smooth and joyful as possible. I can’t recommend Katie and Little Lilacs Birth Services enough to anyone looking for a doula who combines knowledge, compassion, and genuine friendship.

Hi, I’m Andrea Carter—founder of It Takes a Village, midwife, mother, and passionate birth advocate. Originally from Gary, Indiana, I made Dallas my home in 2015. Though I dreamed of becoming an OB/GYN as a child, it was my own powerful birth experiences that led me to step into the world of natural birth and begin my journey as a doula in 2016. Since then, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside over 160 families as a doula and supporting more than 300 families as a student midwife. I am a proud 2023 graduate of Southwest Technical College, and today I serve families as a staff midwife at Swiss Avenue Birth and Wellness Center, in addition to offering homebirth services throughout the DFW metroplex. As a mother of four—each born naturally—I understand the beauty, strength, and vulnerability of birth firsthand. My mission is to educate and support families so they feel confident, heard, and empowered to make the choices that are right for them. I’ve attended a wide range of births, including VBACs, breech births, and twins, and I bring a calm, grounded presence to every birth space. My Philosophy of Birth I believe that birth is a sacred, physiological process—not something to be managed, but to be supported. Every birthing person deserves compassionate, respectful, and individualized care that centers their voice, values, and vision. I trust the innate wisdom of the body and believe that, with the right support and information, families can birth in power and peace—however that looks for them. Whether in a birth center or at home, I honor each family’s unique journey and hold space for their strength to unfold. At It Takes a Village, you’re not just receiving care—you’re gaining a trusted partner who honors your vision for birth and walks beside you every step of the way.

I’m Riley, the doula behind Root and Vine. This work is my calling — rooted in a deep respect for the strength and sacrifice of women, the transformation of birth, and the sacredness of new life. I’m a birth and postpartum doula, trained through DONA, and support families across the DFW metroplex with compassion, evidence-based knowledge, calm presence, and a deep trust in the process of labor. I am an English teacher of seven years and my husband and I have one son. My path to birth doula work began with my own birth experience; having a doula during my pregnancy was so helpful to me and made me feel much more knowledgeable and in control of my birth. Unfortunately, the birth of my son did not go as planned for many reasons: my doula could not attend my birth, I preeclampsia complications, and my son was in a breech position. Birth is a transformation, but it can also come with trauma. My experience compelled me to become a doula to hopefully help other women have better birth experiences than I did. I’m also passionate about postpartum care; in the time after giving birth, I felt vulnerable and, although I had endured a major physical and emotional event, I was not often the focus or concern. Even amidst so much joy and love for my son, people quickly begin asking about the baby and forget to ask about the new parent. I want to be the doula that I wish I could have had! The role of postpartum doula is to mother the mother, to educate and encourage new parents, and ensure the new family is thriving together. My love of caregiving and my passion of supporting other mothers is combined in the role of postpartum doula.

Nusrat Jahan Moon

Nusrat Jahan Moon prefers to introduce herself as Amatullah. Amatullah is a mother of two beautiful children. After a traumatic birth experience with her first child, she felt an overwhelming desire to become a doula. Then, by Allah's infinite mercy, she used the knowledge gained from her AMANI Birth training during the birth of her second child to experience a natural delivery. She has expressed her desire to gain more knowledge about natural childbirth in the future. She is also a writer and is the author of Brishtyveja Bikel. She worked with Sorobor as a writer for about two years. Her writings have been published in all of Roudromoyee's books. Moreover, her work has been published by Somokalin Prokason, Muhammad Publication, and several other publishing houses. She has also edited a book called Sukher Natai. According to her, motherhood is a difficult path, and she wants to be a companion of mothers on this journey. Working with expectant mothers is an area of her passion. "[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving." (Al-Quran, Surah Al-Mulk 67:2) Birth is a miracle, as Allah (SWT) creates a human being in the womb and gives it life. Every human is different in color, height, personality, and spirituality. The more she thinks about this miracle, the more she feels an urge to be a part of it. Becoming a Birth Doula has become her passion day by day. Working with the mothers who are carrying a living example of Allah's existence is a huge blessing for her. She hopes it will keep reminding her of her true goal in this life: that we all have to return to Him, the one who created all of us.

Hi moms! My name is Samantha, I’m a mom of 4, lactation enthusiast, pet lover, Army veteran and #DONA certified doula! I’m excited to be walking in my new found purpose of supporting moms through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum! I believe every woman deserves to feel seen, heard, & held during childbirth. I show up to remind you that your voice matters, your body knows what to do, and you do not have to walk this journey alone. I, myself, have had 4 different types of births- emergency c-section, scheduled c-section, vaginal birth after 2 c-sections w/epidural, & an unmedicated water birth in the comfort of my own home. However you plan to bring your little one earth side, I stand beside you every step of the way.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Samantha. From the very beginning, she was supportive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to listen to my concerns, answer every question with patience, and make sure I felt prepared for each stage of the journey. During labor, her calm presence made such a difference. She advocated for me when I needed it, reminded me of my birth preferences, and offered comfort and encouragement that kept me grounded. Whether it was suggesting position changes, guiding my breathing, or simply holding my hand, she knew exactly what I needed in the moment. Beyond the birth, she continued to check in and provide resources that helped me transition smoothly into postpartum life. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication truly exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a doula who will not only support you but also empower you, I wholeheartedly recommend Samantha. She made my experience more positive, peaceful, and memorable than I ever could have imagined.
