I absolutely love love love Synia! She is very knowledgeable and patient. Thorough with questions and concerns. And she helped me feel more confident when it came to my goals for having an unmediated natural birth. She is not just a doula she is family! Unlike other doulas she is present and hands on. Shes not apart of group of doulas where you don’t know which person you might get at the time of birth. She is the real deal. I will be recommending her to all my pregnant friends! Thank you Synia!!

We are dedicated to empowering women, by providing culturally competent care that honors their unique experiences.

We had an incredible experience working with Cortni as our birth doula for the delivery of our first child. In the weeks leading up to labor, she was excellent at communicating with us and made sure we always felt informed, supported, and prepared. She even followed up with me after each of my doctor’s appointments which really helped ease a lot of my anxiety as a new mom. Cortni’s background as a registered nurse makes her stand out amongst other doulas. Her medical knowledge of labor and birth was so valuable as she was able to read and explain all of the hospital monitors and machines and clearly communicate what was happening every step of the way. Having her there helped me stay calm, grounded, and focused on my baby and my body during labor. It also allowed my husband to fully focus on supporting me, knowing Cortni was there to help us understand everything that was happening medically. We are so grateful for her presence and support and cannot recommend Cortni highly enough to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly exceptional birth doula.

Hi moms! My name is Samantha, I’m a mom of 4, lactation enthusiast, pet lover, Army veteran and #DONA certified doula! I’m excited to be walking in my new found purpose of supporting moms through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum! I believe every woman deserves to feel seen, heard, & held during childbirth. I show up to remind you that your voice matters, your body knows what to do, and you do not have to walk this journey alone. I, myself, have had 4 different types of births- emergency c-section, scheduled c-section, vaginal birth after 2 c-sections w/epidural, & an unmedicated water birth in the comfort of my own home. However you plan to bring your little one earth side, I stand beside you every step of the way.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Samantha. From the very beginning, she was supportive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to listen to my concerns, answer every question with patience, and make sure I felt prepared for each stage of the journey. During labor, her calm presence made such a difference. She advocated for me when I needed it, reminded me of my birth preferences, and offered comfort and encouragement that kept me grounded. Whether it was suggesting position changes, guiding my breathing, or simply holding my hand, she knew exactly what I needed in the moment. Beyond the birth, she continued to check in and provide resources that helped me transition smoothly into postpartum life. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication truly exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a doula who will not only support you but also empower you, I wholeheartedly recommend Samantha. She made my experience more positive, peaceful, and memorable than I ever could have imagined.

I'm Taylor, your dedicated birth and postpartum doula. As a native of Dallas, my life's journey has been a blend of enriching experiences and fulfilling adventures, all of which have guided me to my true calling—supporting new families during the prenatal & postpartum period. Hi, I’m Melanie Powell—certified doula, childbirth educator, author of From Fear to First Cry, and the founder of both Little Flower Birth Services and the non-profit Under His Wings Collective. As a mother myself, I know firsthand that bringing a child into the world is one of the most profound, transformative journeys you will ever take. But I also know it can bring up deep questions, past fears, and medical anxieties. That is why my life’s work is dedicated to walking beside women and their partners, ensuring you never have to navigate the medical landscape alone. Through Little Flower Birth Services, my practice is rooted in three core pillars: Advocacy to help your partner step into their role as your protector, Sanctuary to guard your peace with a protective "Baby Bubble," and Autonomy to honor your God-given intuition through a trauma-informed framework. Whether I'm teaching evidence-based physiological birth classes, coaching partners in our signature advocacy workshops, or offering quiet, steadfast support in the delivery room, my goal is to transform your anxieties into your greatest strengths. Beyond my private practice, my heart for community led me to establish Under His Wings Collective—a non-profit initiative dedicated to expanding access to sliding-scale and free childbirth education, alongside trauma-informed virtual doula support (such as our Virtual Bloom Package) for Medicaid-eligible, low-income, and high-anxiety mothers who deserve dedicated care regardless of circumstance. When I’m not supporting families across the DFW Metroplex, leading virtual education cohorts, or advocating through the collective, you can usually find me baking something nourishing for loved ones or cherishing quiet moments with my daughter. You deserve to enter your birth room feeling strong, informed, and deeply supported. I would be honored to walk this sacred journey with you.

What made us choose Melanie as our birth doula for our first birth experience was the fact that she was Catholic and she offered a lot in her birth package. She was extremely helpful all throughout my pregnancy, especially on the day of my delivery. She helped us map out a birth plan and she did a great job educating us. During my labor, Melanie coached me through exercises she prepped us with to deal with the contractions. After I got my epidural, I was still experiencing pain on my right side. Melanie spent hours lightly shaking the area to get my daughter to move. It really helped me deal with the pain. She also helped the nurse with getting my daughter to turn face down to prepare for birth. Melanie offered me the comfort and support I needed in the last hours of my labor. Because of her support, my husband was able to get some extra sleep so he could be present with me and available post-birth. I would strongly recommend Melanie as a doula.

Ar’Monni Rolland

I am excited to express my interest in the Night Doula/Night Nanny position. With four years of hands-on childcare experience—including dedicated night nanny work—I’ve supported families with newborns, infants, and children up to 5 years old, including twins. Caring for little ones during those tender nighttime hours has become something I truly love and take pride in. I have a strong background in establishing healthy sleep routines, soothing newborns, supporting feeding schedules (breast- and bottle-fed), and helping parents feel confident and rested. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, gentleness, and intuition—especially at night when babies need calm, consistent care. I also bring a reliable, nurturing presence that helps families feel secure and supported while they recharge. I would be honored to support your family and bring my professionalism, warmth, and dedication to your home. Thank you so much for considering me. I would love the opportunity to discuss how I can help your household thrive.

Hiring Ar’Monni as our night doula was one of the best decisions we made. She brought such calm, patience, and understanding into our home. Our newborn slept better, we slept better, and the whole house felt more at peace. She was attentive, dependable, and incredibly gentle with our baby. We trusted her completely from day one. Truly a lifesaver during those exhausting early weeks! Highly, highly recommend her services.

Mozeke was the sweetest midwife. Better than I could have hoped for. She took us on late in my pregnancy after I decided against a hospital birth and made the process so easy and beautiful!

Riley Bandstra

Dallas, Texas 2 years of experience

Riley Bandstra

I’m Riley, the doula behind Root and Vine. This work is my calling — rooted in a deep respect for the strength and sacrifice of women, the transformation of birth, and the sacredness of new life. I’m a birth and postpartum doula, trained through DONA, and support families across the DFW metroplex with compassion, evidence-based knowledge, calm presence, and a deep trust in the process of labor. I am an English teacher of seven years and my husband and I have one son. My path to birth doula work began with my own birth experience; having a doula during my pregnancy was so helpful to me and made me feel much more knowledgeable and in control of my birth. Unfortunately, the birth of my son did not go as planned for many reasons: my doula could not attend my birth, I preeclampsia complications, and my son was in a breech position. Birth is a transformation, but it can also come with trauma. My experience compelled me to become a doula to hopefully help other women have better birth experiences than I did. I’m also passionate about postpartum care; in the time after giving birth, I felt vulnerable and, although I had endured a major physical and emotional event, I was not often the focus or concern. Even amidst so much joy and love for my son, people quickly begin asking about the baby and forget to ask about the new parent. I want to be the doula that I wish I could have had! The role of postpartum doula is to mother the mother, to educate and encourage new parents, and ensure the new family is thriving together. My love of caregiving and my passion of supporting other mothers is combined in the role of postpartum doula.

Andrea Carter

Hi, I’m Andrea Carter—founder of It Takes a Village, midwife, mother, and passionate birth advocate. Originally from Gary, Indiana, I made Dallas my home in 2015. Though I dreamed of becoming an OB/GYN as a child, it was my own powerful birth experiences that led me to step into the world of natural birth and begin my journey as a doula in 2016. Since then, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside over 160 families as a doula and supporting more than 300 families as a student midwife. I am a proud 2023 graduate of Southwest Technical College, and today I serve families as a staff midwife at Swiss Avenue Birth and Wellness Center, in addition to offering homebirth services throughout the DFW metroplex. As a mother of four—each born naturally—I understand the beauty, strength, and vulnerability of birth firsthand. My mission is to educate and support families so they feel confident, heard, and empowered to make the choices that are right for them. I’ve attended a wide range of births, including VBACs, breech births, and twins, and I bring a calm, grounded presence to every birth space. My Philosophy of Birth I believe that birth is a sacred, physiological process—not something to be managed, but to be supported. Every birthing person deserves compassionate, respectful, and individualized care that centers their voice, values, and vision. I trust the innate wisdom of the body and believe that, with the right support and information, families can birth in power and peace—however that looks for them. Whether in a birth center or at home, I honor each family’s unique journey and hold space for their strength to unfold. At It Takes a Village, you’re not just receiving care—you’re gaining a trusted partner who honors your vision for birth and walks beside you every step of the way.

Being a first time mom and living away from family it was very important to have some support my first few weeks of being home with my newborn. As soon as I met Carmen I immediately knew she would be a good fit for my postpartum doula! She was friendly, welcoming, and supportive. During the night I felt comfortable and at ease with her taking care of our newborn and my husband and I getting much needed rest and our little one as well. Thank you Carmen for your support the first few weeks, don’t know what we would’ve done!

October 2026

With our first baby we did not have a doula and the second time around I knew I needed one. Keeley supported me from the beginning. She would check up on me and just be there when I needed some reassurance. When I needed a medical procedure early in pregnancy she offered be there. She went above and beyond even before I was in my last trimester. When I had to be induced she showed up for me even before active labor even started because I was having anxiety and she could sense I needed the support, she arrived before midnight and stayed with us until after delivery which wasn’t until 5 pm. She supported my wants and need for this labor process and she wasn’t afraid to be my advocate with the nurse and doctors. She was always very professional. She made the labor and delivery process a whole lot less stressful. Even my husband said this was completely different than our first and it was the best choice we made. If you are looking for a doula Keeley is your person. She will be there to support you to advocate for you and she will always show up for you. I couldn’t ask for a better person(doula) to be there.

Keeley was such a great presence and help during my labor, she is very hands on and collaborated with my nurses and midwife to give me the best care possible. Would definitely recommend her to anybody looking for a doula!
