Hospital. * Estimated budget: I’m looking for a multi-week postpartum package and am flexible about the number of hours/days per week depending on the package and rate. * Describe your birth plan: Planning a hospital delivery. My main requirement is postpartum support after coming home, rather than labor/birth support. * Requirements for the provider: Prefer an Indian postpartum doula, if available, or someone familiar with Indian postpartum traditions and food. I would prefer someone experienced with newborns and first-time mothers. Postpartum doula certification/newborn-care training and infant CPR/first-aid knowledge are preferred. An Indian language is a plus but not mandatory. * Details about care recipients: First-time mother and newborn baby. I’m looking for someone who can help me recover after delivery while teaching/guiding me with newborn care, diapering, soothing, bathing, safe sleep, and establishing a routine. I would also like breastfeeding/feeding support and guidance, as needed. * Additional duties: Primarily mother and newborn care. Light baby-related duties such as washing/sterilizing bottles and pump parts, baby laundry, and keeping the baby’s area organized would be helpful. Light cooking/meal preparation, especially Indian postpartum meals, would be a big plus. I’m not looking for heavy house cleaning.

As of now, I will be giving birth at Bay Area but am trying to figure out if Tricare will cover a birthing center. Regarding budget, I am hoping to have everything covered by insurance. My birth plan is to labor at home for as long as possible, then transition to where I will give birth. I have no additional plans as of right now.

We have not decided budget yet, as we have not done large amounts of research. We plan for a natural birth with little to no medical intervention, per the birth at the Birth Center. Hello, my name is Hannah. I’m looking for somebody to help me with an at home birth. This is my second pregnancy and I refuse to go to he hospital if I can help it. I did the first time and I regret it so much..I was 17 my first pregnancy and it was horrible. Im 22 now and im not about to make the same mistake again. Im really hoping somebody can help me out 🥲 Me and my man are both very low income and are looking for somebody that can maybe take monthly payments? Or separate payments? Really anything we can find. I still haven’t seen anybody, got a sonogram, nothing. And you probably already know the OB’s have been giving me issues especially wanting an at home birth as well as insurance just won’t cover. I’m not looking for somebody that’s going to hold my hand. My ideal situation is to at least get a sonogram, find out the gender; and somebody help me give birth…I was considering a water birth but I would like advice on that as well! Nobody but me and my man will be involved with this, I prefer something quiet and special…

I’m planning to give birth in a hospital, but I’m hoping for a low-intervention experience and would like to pursue an unmedicated/natural birth if everything is progressing safely. I’m looking for a doula who is very scientific/evidence-based and can help my husband and me prepare ahead of time, including developing a thoughtful birth plan and understanding our options and preferences around common hospital interventions. I’d also really value someone who can help educate us on the decisions we’ll need to make for the baby immediately after birth—things like routine newborn medications and vaccines, delayed cord clamping, skin-to-skin, bathing, newborn screenings, and other standard hospital practices—so we can understand the evidence, benefits and tradeoffs and make informed decisions with our medical team ahead of time. During labor and delivery, I’d love someone who can provide hands-on support, help with positioning and pain-management techniques, coach both me and my husband, and help us navigate decisions that come up while still working collaboratively with my medical team. I’m also interested in some postpartum support, ideally 1–2 visits after we’re home to check in on how both the baby and I are doing and help us navigate the early transition. Breastfeeding is important to me, so experience with lactation and practical breastfeeding support would be especially valuable.
