Hello. I am an African American woman giving birth and in search of a doula to help advocate for me. In my last birth I was met with bias because of my skin color, and would love to have a peaceful experience this time around. I want to learn how to give birth, what to do in postpartum to help myself heal etc. I’m thinking of being induced because of my school schedule, but I’m also wanting to go natural so I need help deciding on that. I have UHC insurance primary and WellPoint Medicaid as a secondary.

I will be delivering at Baylor Scott and White Grapevine. I'm unsure of budget and am trying to figure out what my insurance may or may not cover. This is our first child, so I'm not sure what to expect in terms of cost. I would like to have a natural birth, and plan to breastfeed.
