In search of a doula that will come to my home during active labor to offer support as I would be a VBAC and so I want to labor at home as long as possible before going to the TX health Mansfield hospital. Doula would come to hospital with me too!

Support People - My husband - My mother - My mother-in-law During Birth - I would like delayed cord clamping if baby is doing well. - If possible, I would like immediate skin-to-skin contact after birth and if I am unable I would like my husband to do it. - I would like to begin breastfeeding as soon as possible after delivery. Newborn Care - Please delay baby's first bath - I would like routine newborn procedures to be dine in my room whenever possible.

Hi! I am giving birth at a birthing center in Austin and I am interested in hiring a Doula.

Open to options and really just seeing how much it would cost out of pocket if I am unable to obtain insurance. Am looking to do some sort of home birth or adjacent to it. Would love to stay out of a hospital setting given I remain a low/no risk.

We're expecting our first child, a daughter, on November 6th, and we're currently at 25 weeks. We'll be delivering at Texas Health Harris Methodist Southwest in Fort Worth with Dr. Stacy Butler, so experience at that specific hospital is a plus. The main reason we want a doula is that I will be my wife's only support person in the room. We don't have family nearby and aren't planning to have anyone else at the birth, so we're looking for someone who can provide continuous support through a long labor and give me a chance to eat and rest without leaving my wife alone. Reliable backup coverage matters to us for the same reason. A few things that are important to us: My wife wants to keep her options open on pain management, including an epidural. We're looking for someone who will support whatever she decides in the moment rather than steering her toward or away from any particular kind of birth. We are formula feeding exclusively and have already made that decision, so we'd like a doula who is comfortable with that and won't push breastfeeding. We are not religious. We don't mind if a doula is personally religious, but we would prefer that faith, prayer, or scripture not be part of our birth experience. We're also interested in hands-on preparation. Childbirth education as part of a package is something we'd consider. Having birth doula, postpartum doula, as well as night services available from the same provider is a plus. We'd like to book within the next few weeks and are flexible on scheduling consultations, including evenings and weekends.

I’ve had 2 high risk pregnancies, the first I had severe preeclampsia so my birth plan went out the window. My second birth, the baby had Intrauterine growth restriction so the doctor said I had to be induced early. I’m hoping I can have a more natural birth this time around. No inducing, either no medication at all & using a pressure relief type of pain management or maybe just laugh gas or something like that. I want to be able to birth in a position that feels comfortable and not on my back. I also would love to do a water birth but the hospital I went to the past 2 times doesn’t offer that as an option. I really just want to know what my options are and have someone that will listen to me and also support me to make sure everything goes as well as it can. I’d love to have a home birth or a birthing center but I’m scared that because I’ve been high risk twice, I’ll need to be at an actual hospital. I’m not really sure what my budget is because I’m not sure how much this all usually costs.
