About me

Hi! I'm Nayo a certified birth and postpartum doula. My approach to doula-ing is one that is very family centered. I love for my families to have all of the facts and then they make the best decision for them. I enjoy journeying with families through birth and postpartum. I'm a proud mama of two smart, rambunctious boys. I love to cook for and spend quality time with my family and friends. When birthing schedule allows, I also love travelling. I found my way to being a doula after the birth of my second baby. Though my pregnancy and birth were perfectly planned and perfectly played out, I had nothing setup and prepared for postpartum. Two days after I gave birth I was up making myself breakfast, getting my oldest off to school, and driving myself and new baby to his first pediatric appointment. I felt alone and isolated. Many days I would just cry from being overwhelmed. I told my doula and lactation consultant that as soon as I was healed I would train to be a postpartum doula so that no other families nor mom would have to suffer in silence. Now, as a birth and postpartum doula, I get to make sure that moms can have the birth they want, and a peaceful, sustainable life after their sweet baby has arrived. It's truly my passion to ensure families thrive through this wild time in their lives.

Why Should I Hire A Doula?

Multiple studies have found that the presence of a trained doula benefits everyone. The studies have shown that doula care and presence is associated with shorter labors, less use of epidurals and other pain medications, lower episiotomy rates, and as much as a 50% reduction in the C-section rate. Research has also shown better clinical outcomes for both the mother and the baby (including better breastfeeding rates, and increased quality in family bonding). A doula also provides care for the mother’s partner and other family members, can assist with busy hospital staff tasks, and greatly increases a mother’s overall satisfaction with her birthing experience.

My partner is afraid that my doula will replace them?

The bond between you and your partner will not be interfered with by your doula. Your doula is available for both you and your partner, we make it a point to ensure your partner always remains involved during the process, we involve them in prenatal and take the time to discuss their role and educate them on how they can better support you during the big day.

What happens if two moms go into labor at the same time?

I have to amazing backup doulas that I will call so that you will still be fully supported.
