I come from a diverse background and have had 3 very different birth experiences. After having my last baby in 2021 I became incredibly invested in women’s birthing experiences, before, during and after and through research saw that there was a need in my area for supportive women just like me. Elyse was an incredible birth doula for us as first-time parents. She is extremely knowledgeable about the delivery process and our hospital’s protocols, which truly helped calm our nerves—especially knowing she is DONA certified. I didn’t have much time to research how to prepare for birth, so Elyse made sure we covered all the essential information during our first prenatal session, and her Google Drive was full of helpful resources as well. Although we didn’t get to have our second prenatal session because I went into labor two weeks early, Elyse seamlessly guided us in the delivery room. She suggested different stretches and positions to help the baby progress through the pelvis and did an excellent job supporting us while allowing the doctors and nurses to do their work. At the same time, she made sure I was informed of my rights as a patient, which I deeply appreciated. After the birth, Elyse provided a detailed timeline of events that allowed us to reflect on our birthing journey, and our postpartum visit was incredibly helpful for reviewing the experience and asking follow-up questions. We would absolutely work with Elyse again in the future—especially since our insurance fully covered her services!

My experience with Liz as my doula was truly phenomenal. From the moment we connected, I knew we were the right fit. Her communication was immediate and thoughtful, as a working mom, I deeply appreciated her sense of urgency and genuine desire to support moms in need. When we had our first meeting, we instantly clicked. She brought such a calm presence, yet also felt like having a big sister in the room with me, which, as a big sister myself, meant so much. I sought out a doula because I was considered “advanced maternal age” with my second baby, and there was a lot of fear-based messaging around potential complications and C-sections. I wanted strong advocacy in the room, support for my body, and a positive, smooth birth experience for both me and my son. I also hoped to delay an epidural as long as possible. Although I ended up being induced (not part of the original plan), Liz helped us adapt confidently. I didn’t receive an epidural until 8 cm, something I’m incredibly proud of, and I credit so much of that to her support (not to mention we also delivered a 10 lb 9 oz baby vaginally). Liz wasn’t just an asset to me, she was an anchor for my husband, too. The three of us truly felt like a team. Her birth classes helped us align on preferences and put our plan on paper, and I loved that she brought that plan into the delivery room and thoughtfully referenced it. Her attention to detail is unmatched. Leading up to delivery, she was a constant source of calm, especially during a major snowstorm when I worried I might go into labor early. After birth, when our son had a brief NICU stay and I experienced complications, Liz continued checking in on both me and my husband. That level of care speaks volumes. Before I went to Jade's childbirth class at Montclair BABY, I had never heard of a doula. Her class was holistic of all the options during labor and delivery, and my husband and I felt like Jade could be the perfect support person to ease my anxiety during pregnancy and labor. We were absolutely right. Jade offered continuous comfort and information for me throughout my pregnancy. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and gave advice for things I hadn't even considered. Being someone who has always been terrified of childbirth, Jade eased my anxiety leaps and bounds. We prepared for it beforehand, but once I went into labor, Jade supported us over the phone and at my home before we went to the hospital. My birth went from something that I used to fear, to something I now look back on with fond memories (I think that's a wild transformation) and I truly credit a lot of that to Jade. She was an advocate for me at the hospital, she rarely left my side except when I needed alone time with my husband, and she encouraged me. She worked cooperatively with the rest of the birth team. Dare I say birth was actually a little fun? I whole heartedly recommend Jade as a doula and would love to have her at my future births. Not even waiting to be discharged from the hospital to write this one. Easiest 5 star review I've ever given to any business. A little of my background. This was my second pregnancy (I had preeclampsia in my first) delivering at a new hospital that ended up becoming an unplanned c-section. I cannot say enough how grateful I am to have had Jenna in the OR with me and my husband as our son was being born. It didn't even occur to me that once my son would be born, my husband would leave with him, which would have meant I would have been alone for major abdominal surgery while I was awake had Jenna not been there. And because it was unplanned, some of our birth preferences couldn't be met. So she was there to advocate for us when we either didn't know we could, or we forgot in all of the melee, what the actual plan was. No matter what, if you are having a baby hire Jenna as your Doula. You will not regret it. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and so so so supportive as we started this (sometimes scary) new journey as a family of 4.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support I received from my birth and postpartum doula, Kei. From my third trimester all the way through labor and the first four weeks postpartum, Kei was a constant source of guidance, comfort, and strength. Kei provided me with an abundance of resources, including recipes, guides, exercises, and daily affirmations, which were invaluable during my pregnancy. She was instrumental in helping me stick to my birthing plan, yet was flexible and adaptive when changes were necessary during labor and delivery. One of the many thoughtful gestures Kei made was gifting me a birth exercise ball and warm compresses for breastfeeding. Her knowledge on breastfeeding and pumping was extensive; she not only educated me on the process but also made me a special lactation tea that significantly helped increase my milk production.
