I set out to become a birth doula over 25 years ago after becoming a massage therapist, but I put this career goal on hold until my children became adults. I finally achieved my goal and became certified as a birth doula this year. As a seasoned massage therapist, I offer a broad understanding of a person's physical and emotional needs, especially during this special time as you prepare your body for the birth of your baby.
We are so thankful to have had Elyse as our Doula. She is a wealth of knowledge and is incredibly passionate about the birthing process. Elyse did a great job helping us craft our birth plan. Ultimately my birth story didn’t unfold as I had envisioned and ultimately I had to have a c-section delivery. Elyse helped to guide us through the changes and was in person support for me both before and after the surgery. She was instrumental in helping me breastfeed my daughter for the first time as well as collecting additional colostrum. I have had a very successful experience breastfeeding since my daughter’s birth and I attribute that in great part to Elyse. We highly recommend her!

Hello! I am a full spectrum doula compassionate about supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with care, support and love!
Woodbridge Township, New Jersey
I provide compassionate, evidence-based doula support for expectant families seeking an empowered and holistic birth experience. I specialize in prenatal education, continuous labor support, and postpartum care, ensuring that birthing individuals and their families feel informed, nurtured, and confident throughout their journey. My hope is to create a calm, supportive, and judgment-free space where families can embrace birth with trust, strength, and peace. Whether you desire hands-on comfort techniques, advocacy in a hospital setting, or emotional reassurance in your home birth, Ivy Haven Birthwork is dedicated to honoring your unique path to parenthood.
Working with Ivy Haven Birthwork was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. From the very beginning, I felt so seen, heard, and genuinely supported. This wasn’t just about information or checklists — it was about having someone walk beside me with calm, grounded presence every step of the way. Throughout my pregnancy, I always felt like I had a safe space to ask questions, process emotions, and explore my birth preferences without any judgment. Every visit left me feeling more prepared, more empowered, and more connected to my body and my baby. During labor and birth, Ivy Haven showed up with such quiet strength and intuition — anticipating what I needed before I even had to ask. Whether it was hands-on comfort, encouraging words, or just holding space, the support was everything I hoped for and more. I truly don’t know how I would have navigated it all without that presence. And postpartum… wow. Having someone check in on me — not just the baby — made all the difference. Ivy held space for my recovery, my questions, my tears, and my joy. From helping with practical tips to simply sitting and listening, I felt truly cared for in those tender first weeks. Now, with my baby girl nearly four months old, I still carry the strength and grounding I gained from my experience with Ivy. I’m endlessly grateful.

I’m Clarissa Alves, born on September 21, 2001, in the heart of the Bronx, New York. Now, I live in New Jersey with my wonderful husband, who is my rock, and our two wild, magical toddler daughters who remind me daily of the beauty and chaos of life. I’m a wife, a mother, and a lover of life. My husband is my anchor, my safe place, and the steady rhythm in the background of all my adventures. Our daughters, with their boundless energy and free spirits, have taught me to live fully in the present, to surrender to the natural flow of life, and to find joy in the smallest moments. They are my greatest teachers. When I’m not nurturing my family, I lose myself in the things that bring me joy. Music, movies, arts, and crafts have always been a part of my life. I have always been drawn to creativity and expression, finding beauty in handmade things and stories that move the soul. I am also deeply passionate about human rights, especially intactivism, children’s well-being, and the protection of reproductive and birth rights. I believe in the power of informed choice, respect for bodily autonomy, and the right of every person to receive the care and support they deserve. Motherhood has been a transformative journey for me, filled with love, loss, and incredible resilience. Both of my daughters are rainbow babies, born after the pain of miscarriage. Through the heartbreak of recurring pregnancy loss, I learned just how sacred and fragile life is. My pregnancies were further complicated by hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), a debilitating illness that goes far beyond morning sickness. It left me drained, struggling, and often feeling like I had lost control of my own body. But I wasn’t alone. My doula was there, holding space for me when I felt powerless, reminding me that even in the hardest moments, my body carried deep wisdom. She supported me through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, offering unwavering care, comfort, and knowledge. Because of her, I became the first in my family to experience a vaginal birth and the first to breastfeed exclusively. Breastfeeding became such an important part of my journey that while nursing my own baby, I was able to donate over 10,000 ounces of breast milk to nourish others. The love and guidance I received through my own experiences shaped my path forward. I knew I wanted to offer that same support to others, to walk alongside birthing people through the most raw, sacred, and transformative moments of their lives. Each birth I have attended has only deepened that calling, solidifying my passion for this work. There is nothing more humbling than witnessing the strength, power, and vulnerability of birth, and it is an honor to be a part of that journey.

Bringing a baby into your life can be a beautiful yet, overwhelming experience. I've been a doula for 11 years and counting, so I've been doing this long enough to know that every family is different. Because of that, I like to get to know the families I work with so that I can support them in a way that is specific to their individual needs. I do not make the decisions for parents or tell them what to do, I empower them to have the confidence in their own parental decisions with evidenced based information, care and empathy. On top of being a doula, I'm a Childbirth educator, Certified Lactation Counselor, Nutritionist, Holistic Health Coach, Certified Sports Nutrition Coach, and Personal Trainer with specialties in pelvic floor, core health, prenatal and postpartum fitness. I bring all of my skills to families to support them in the way that is specific to their needs.

Thank you for for being here and exploring how I can support your growing Tribe®️ Love, Renée
I will try to put into words the feelings I have, in an attempt to express my gratitude to Renée. Firstly, I would not have been successful without her. She believed in me, my body, my ability even when I questioned it. She knew what to do at every step- from our first conversation to the leading up to the birth, to actual birth & right after. Thank you for helping me at home as well. You just knew exactly what to do & coached me through it in a kind, gentle way (even when others were nervous you knew how to handle them too ;). Knew what to do to progress labor and when to move to hospital. I don’t know how Renée remained so present with me during the hospital delivery. A million people screaming at me- I focused on what she said. She just knew. 30 mins in L&D and baby was here. This was thanks to her cues. I would not have known what was happening without the cues Renée taught me. And after birth, helping us with immediate nursing & taking pictures!

Hi I'm Diane Nader Giresi, I'm a DONA Trained and Certified Postpartum Doula, a Certified Lactation Counselor and a Pre/Postnatal Fitness Trainer. I realized with the birth of my first child, that I had to include a wellness plan for my overall wellbeing. I believe we go through different journeys throughout our lives and with each journey, we face challenges. My goal as a postpartum doula, is to provide my clients with individualized non-judgmental support that encourages them on their journey as new parents. Continuing education is always at the forefront, so I can provide the most up to date evidence based research and resources. I attend many workshops and conferences on the ever changing protocols on tongue-tie and oral restrictions. I provide extensive lactation support if choosing to breastfeed. I help develop strategies for success, back to work plans, weaning, pumping, and flange fitting. In addition to newborn care, understanding cues, and newborn sleep patterns. Support looks different for each family. I listen to your needs and together we form a plan that serves your new family unit.
Diane provided much-needed support after the birth of my daughter as my husband and I adjusted to becoming first-time parents. She helped me build my confidence when I started my breastfeeding journey and is very knowledgeable about lactation, pumping, and setting realistic expectations for feeding a newborn. My husband and I also both benefitted from Diane's experience caring for infants. She is quick to respond to questions and provide advice without judgment, and helped us learn a range of new skills (e.g., bottle feeding, tummy time, baths, nail trims). We feel much more comfortable as new parents compared to where we started and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a postpartum doula!

Hello! I’m Gabrielle. A little bit about me and what sets me apart: I am an Ayurvedic birth and postpartum doula, an Holistic Pregnancy and Birth Practitioner (HPBP), and I am in my final year of a Master of Science degree in Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda Health. And, aside from all of that, I have been a career nanny for over a decade with experience working with moms and postpartum. My knowledge of this ancient wisdom of Ayurveda allows me to bring a unique approach to your postpartum by focusing on nourishment, healing, rest, + bonding. My focus is to hold you so you can hold your baby. As we enter into this sacred journey together, know that my intention during every stage is done with the utmost reverence and respect for the art of bringing new life into the world, and I am merely a bystander in your new journey to motherhood. I am so looking forward to serving you.
Gabrielle is an absolute star! My husband and I met her when I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant and stayed in touch and close until the birth of our baby girl. We’d settled on a postpartum care package which quickly began to involve overnight support and general help / care for our newborn. It was clear from the moment we met Gabrielle that her sound judgment, introspection, and thoughtfulness as a human being made up the essence of her work. Frankly, we wanted no one else around helping us and being around our new little addition to the family. Our trust in her was immense from the get go. Gabrielle is warm, generous, wise beyond her years, and always there to respect and communicate through a parent’s journey. She is honest and prizes true matches with families - like us, she is all about connecting on a deeper level. Gabrielle believes deeply in the positive of fostering positive and nurturing energy - she has a true commitment to her passion of supporting families in the greatest of life’s adventures! We have come to greatly prize her authenticity, reliability and genuine love of children (in this case, our little baby girl!). We hope this is only the beginning of years of collaboration and work with Gabrielle!

I’m Erica Castillo a full-spectrum doula, body literacy educator, and folk herbalist walking the path toward becoming a home birth midwife. I offer culturally rooted care across the reproductive spectrum, including birth, postpartum, fertility, menstruation, and reproductive health support. My practice weaves together ancestral knowledge and contemporary support, grounded in the traditional healing ways of my African and Taíno ancestors. In many traditions, midwives were more than just birth attendants, they were community healers, herbalists, bodyworkers, and spiritual guides. That legacy shapes how I show up in this work: with reverence, skill, and a deep commitment to care that uplifts the whole person. For the last 8 years, I’ve supported families with a blend of intuition, evidence-based tools, and heart. If you’re looking for a grounded, culturally aligned doula who honors your intuition and uplifts your experience, and advocates for you, I’d be honored to support!

Michelle was my doula for my second child. I was trying for a VBAC and had such a bad experience with my Cesarean that I had one simple request when I hired her, "Please keep me off that operating table!" She checked in with me throughout my pregnancy and gave advice when I was concerned about my weight gain. I wanted to be strong and in the best shape for a vaginal delivery. When I went in to labor spontaneously, my contractions would stop and start. By the 30th hour, I was losing faith and she guided me on "curb walking" to keep my contractions consistent! It worked! She then came to my house and put me through a circuit involving the stairs, floor and different positions on my couch. Active labor sped up quickly and she got me to the hospital ready to push because I was 10 cm dilated on arrival. In 4 pushes, my daughter was out! I can only imagine that had I not hired Michelle, I may have gone to the hospital too early and experienced that prodromal labor on a hospital monitor. I believe I would have been labeled "failure to progress" and wheeled in to the operating room for yet another c-section. My body just needed time and movement to get my active labor going. Michelle knew how to get me there. My 2nd birth felt like redemption and I can't thank Michelle enough!
