As I sit here 2 months postpartum. The reality of being a first time mom is starting to set in. As I think back, the whole experience from being pregnant to giving birth is so crazy! Luckily, I found Marissa and had her support, fact checking knowledge, and companionship through it all. She helped me so much through my pregnancy, the highs and lows. She made me feel confident in myself and I would highly recommend considering having her as a doula. Her knowledge of everything about pregnancy and support was exceptional. Having her as part of my support team was exactly what I needed to make my birth experience the best possible. I'm so grateful we connected not just on my pregnancy but also as a new friendship. Having Marissa as our doula was hands down one of the best decisions we made. She brought so much calm, confidence, and positivity to an experience that can easily feel overwhelming. From the very beginning, she made me feel completely supported and truly listened to.

Her presence during labor was so grounding - she helped me stay calm and focused, even in the moments when things got really intense. My labor was a dream, and I think a part of that was due to Marissa’s continual support and calming effect she had on me. She made me feel like I was secure in a time where I might have been unsure. From coaching me through hypnobirthing, signs of labor, and when to go to the hospital - I truly felt like I was confident to have my first child. And when the time came, my husband and I had no fear! Labor itself was awesome, it felt like an old friend was there helping me bring my first child into the world. We laughed, we cried, and we experienced a bond that will never be forgotten! (Making myself tear up here 🥲)
Because of Marissa, I felt so much more prepared and confident navigating those first few days of parenthood. She gave us the tools, but even more importantly, she gave us the emotional support to trust ourselves and the process.

There is no way I would’ve gotten through the shock and pain of losing our first pregnancy at 8 weeks. The second I became pregnant I had one million and one questions. Marissa supported me throughout my second pregnancy. In my first trimester her advice on HG greatly helped me cope. She also assisted me through a miscarriage scare in my 2nd trimester, encouraging me to visit my OB based on my symptoms. This helped me get diagnosed with a bacterial infection and start a course of antibiotics sooner rather than later, which ended up lowering my risk of having an actual miscarriage.
