I have long been drawn to pregnancy and birth, and after the birth of my first baby at 16, I first trained to be a doula in 2005. I apprenticed and assisted with midwives for many years, and am also a trauma-informed social worker, herbalist, yoga teacher, and energy and body worker. I weave my experiences and skill sets together, providing intuitive and tailored physical, informational, educational, mental, emotional, and spiritual supports. I see the role of a doula or monitrice as a steward- someone to tend to and watch over the person, couple, family during labor, birth, and postpartum and providing care and remedies as is fit and called for. Over time, my education and family ended up in Florida. I came to Tallahassee and graduated twice from Florida A&M University, most recently with my Master of Public Health. My field of study and passion is Maternal and Infant Health. In 2022, I took a leap of faith and completed the Doula Workshop Training from Capital City Doula.
