I believe birth is a journey, not a medical event to be managed. My role as your midwife is to walk beside you: to listen, to guide, and to protect your right to make informed choices about your body, your baby, and your birth. I began my career in 2006 as a NICU nurse, caring for the tiniest and most fragile newborns. In 2009 I became a midwife, first serving families at a community medical center and a community hospital. That background shaped how I practice today. I deeply trust the normal process of birth, and I am clinically ready when birth needs more support. I have attended births at home and in the hospital, and I know how to bridge the two calmly and safely. Almost ten years into my career as a midwife, I became a mama myself, and my two boys taught me more than any textbook. With my first son, I planned a homebirth. When labor needed more support, I transferred to the hospital and gave birth by cesarean. I know firsthand the disappointment, the grief, and the strength it takes when birth doesn't go as planned. With my second son, I had a successful VBAC at home. That birth brought healing and reminded me how powerful our bodies are. I have been on both sides of the bed. I understand what it means to hope for a certain kind of birth, to need a change of plans, and to come back and birth again with confidence. Whether you're planning your first homebirth, hoping for a VBAC, or healing from a past experience, I will meet you with honesty, safety, and deep respect for your journey. What I offer • Full-scope homebirth midwifery: prenatal, birth, and postpartum care • Hybrid prenatal care with in-office visits and home visits from 37 weeks (or home visits throughout) • VBAC support and counseling • In-office ECV (turning) for breech babies • The Hospital Birth Bridge Program: in-home labor assessment and support for families planning a hospital birth, so you arrive at the right time • Lactation visits with a Certified IBCLC: in-home or in-office help with latch, supply, pumping, and feeding challenges • GYN wellness care: annual exams, preconception care, birth control, and hormone health from your teens through menopause • Childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care classes • Postpartum recovery and whole-woman care through my sister practice, ReGlo Aesthetic & Wellness

I have been attending births since 1996, first as a doula and childbirth educator and since 2008 as a licensed midwife in NJ and 2010 in NY. I have been in private practice and partnerships with wonderful midwives and have mentored many students through the process of becoming a midwife in the apprenticeship model. I believe birth is sacred, and that the sovereignty of the birthing person must be kept in mind throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Keeping reproductive justice at the forefront of the work midwives do is critical to reducing maternal and infant mortality in the United States. I believe that midwives have a responsibility to that work and are the answer to the maternal mortality crisis we are facing. I have had multiple leadership roles at both state and national levels and continues to volunteer helping to move midwifery forward in both NJ and NY with the goal of recreating systems so that birthing people can have access to the equitable and culturally congruent care they deserve. I am the mother to five amazing adult children and Grammy to four precious grandchildren. The birth of a child is an amazing mixture of physical happenings, emotional ups and downs and spiritual and personal growth. It brings with it the realization that we are powerful and powerless at the same time; that we can be in control while surrendering; and that nothing else at that moment, hour, day or even days matters, only the intensity of the work we have to do to bring this precious life from us, to us. It is a true blessing and an honor to be present, and I feel privileged to be a part of the journey.

As a fifth time mother experiencing my very first home birth, I cannot say enough about how incredible Edine is! Even with my past birth experiences, bringing a baby into the world at home felt like a sacred new step, and Edine provided the exact safety, respect, and peace I was looking for. From our very first prenatal visit, she made me feel deeply heard and supported. During and incredibly fast and intense delivery, Edine's calm grounded presence and expert guidance allowed me to trust my body completely. The postpartum care she provided in the tender weeks that followed, was filled with so much warmth and dedication. Edine is an exceptional midwife who brings immense heart and skill to her practice. I am endlessly grateful to her for helping me achieve such a safe, beautiful, and empowering birth experience at home.

My calling for birth work started with a traumatic first birth, but has opened my eyes to the beauty that is child birth. I began educating myself which resulted in discovering what a doula was. I felt in my heart if I was able to rewrite my birth narrative, then I can be that person for others. I began attending births as a doula in November 2021. Along this journey, I became pregnant with my third child and was able to experience the difference the midwifery model of care can make. As I carried my child in my womb, attending mostly hospital births as a doula, I saw so many women not being heard or respected. I felt this urgency to become a midwife myself, because all women deserve to be supported. Birth is a natural event that sometimes needs medical attention and not the other way around. I was so inspired to make this my life’s work that I enrolled at the National College of Midwifery September 2022. I have not only been a victim myself but witnessed how our culture has stripped women of their birthing power. I have had three very different personal experiences with three very different births myself. One very medicalized birth turned into cesarean, one unmedicated vbac in a hospital and my last birth was at a birth center ! My hope and passion is to help other women feel the power that comes when their autonomy is left intact! I believe that birth is sacred. I believe in you and your ability to birth. I hold space for the spiritual, the physical, the emotional. I am here to help you with your fears, your hopes, and your dreams. In January 2023 I decided to attend a reiki 1 and 2 training. I have been incorporating this spiritual modality when requested. The pairing on energy work within the birth space has had a magical impact on my clients and my own personal enlightenment. I believe that every woman deserves to birth in a way that is safe for her and her baby, in a way that assures she feels honored and supported.

I can’t say enough good things about Carly, Angela and Amanda. I was beyond impressed with how much I learned from them about my pregnancy and future delivery. Because of that, I was not scared to give birth and I trusted that they would be by my side when the day came. I can’t describe the sense of relief, and safety I felt having them in my corner. During my delivery, Carly was my rock. She supported me 200% and backed me up with every decision that I made. Hiring a doula was the best decision that I made during my pregnancy and I can’t wait to get to work with Carly, Angela and Amanda for all of my future pregnancies! I love them so much!

Nicole Chen was an incredible support throughout my breastfeeding journey. I was having a very difficult time with my baby struggling to latch, finding out my baby was tongue-tied, and dealing with a low milk supply. It was an emotional and overwhelming experience, but Nicole was patient, knowledgeable, and so encouraging every step of the way. She took the time to listen to my concerns, offered practical techniques to improve latching, explained how my baby's tongue tie could affect feeding, and gave me realistic guidance and support for increasing my milk production. Most importantly, she never made me feel judged or discouraged. Her compassion, expertise, and reassurance gave me the confidence to keep trying. I am so grateful for her care and would highly recommend Nicole Chen to any new parent looking for a caring, supportive, and experienced midwife and breastfeeding advocate.

My name is Tykarah, and I am a traditional birth attendant and a devoted student of indigenous midwifery. With Jamaican (paternal) and American (maternal) roots, I embody a rich heritage that includes Irish immigrants, Creek, Maroons, and Syria. As a BLACK Afro-Indigenous woman, my spiritual and professional journey is deeply intertwined with my membership in the Divine Sisterhood Circle, a BIPOC women-led community dedicated to creating sacred, inclusive spaces where families feel safe, seen, heard, and supported. I am also a proud member of the Traditional Community Birth Workers (TBCW), focusing on preserving ancestral wisdom and traditional birth practices without the use of legend drugs or ultrasound. My offerings include a comprehensive range of services such as emotional, physical, and spiritual support throughout the birthing process. I provide energy work, massage therapy, traditional womb care, yoni steaming, belly wrapping, herbal teas and salves, placenta rituals, hip closing ceremonies, and meal preparation. Having completed extensive training in lactation consulting, birth assistance, holistic midwifery skills, and full spectrum doula work with a concentration on reproductive justice, I am committed to empowering and healing families through culturally affirming modalities. My philosophy centers on the sacredness of birth as a transformative ritual, where each family’s unique experience is honored and supported. By following the path of my ancestors and integrating the teachings of the Psalms, I strive to guide families through a journey of personal and collective growth, while fighting against systemic oppression and fostering holistic well-being.

Hi, I'm Sarah and I founded Forever Doula because I think babies are the absolute best (and so are their moms and dads). I am a DONA trained Birth and Postpartum Doula, a Birth and Bereavement Doula through StillBirthDay, a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, a Spinning Babies Certified Parent Educator, and a Certified Lactation Counselor. Before becoming a doula I worked with children in education, specializing in care for kids with special needs. I absolutely loved my job. This sparked an initial passion in me for children and their care. In 2014 my husband and I found out we were going to have our first baby. So exciting (but also a little scary)! I quickly realized how significant care for mom and baby is during pregnancy, birth and newborn stages. Oftentimes we emphasize the care a baby needs. It’s natural - they’re so small and rely on us for everything. But while their care is so important, we can inadvertently disregard the care moms need as well. It was through my own experience I learned that great care for baby begins with great care for mom. It was that truth that turned my initial spark of passion into a life changing journey. I was hooked. Being a doula has been the most rewarding and satisfying job of my life (besides being a mommy). My research, training, and extended experience has shaped the way I approach doula care: I support informed birth choices and empowerment. In simple terms, I believe all moms should have the support to birth and care for their baby, their way. No pressure and no judgment. I’ve worked with moms who know exactly what they want and need my help to achieve that. I love that! I’m on your team all the way. Other times moms need help figuring out what they want, and I love that too! It allows me to offer them all of the information, research and education I have stored up so they can have that “Aha!” moment when they finally discover which approach resonates with them. It’s such a beautiful thing! I truly believe great care is hinged on great education. I’m extremely passionate about educating mothers to learn what changes are occurring in her body, details about labor and delivery, as well as providing comfort measures to ease her body into birthing her baby. It’s my goal to support you by offering evidence-based information, teaching you how to self advocate for your needs, and being physically present at the delivery, as well as providing continued postpartum care. At Forever Doula, we understand that no two births are the same (I myself had three very different births) and every postpartum journey holds its own unique challenges. We’re here to help you through it all, providing you not only the care you desire, but the premium support you and your baby deserve. Together, we’re going to make your dream a reality.

We had an exceptional experience with Forever Doula and highly recommend their postpartum doula services as well as the pre-birth class. Our doula, Gabrielle, supported our family during both day and night shifts in the first month after bringing our newborn home to the southeastern Monmouth county area. The overnight support was truly invaluable. Being able to get a full night's sleep occasionally made such a difference during those early weeks, and knowing our baby was in caring, capable hands gave us tremendous peace of mind. Beyond newborn care, Gabrielle was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive as we worked through breastfeeding and latching challenges. Her guidance, encouragement, and calm presence helped build our confidence as new parents. We also participated in a pre-birth class with Sarah, which was extremely helpful as we prepared for our baby's arrival. With so much information available online and through social media, it can be overwhelming to know what advice to trust. Sarah helped us make sense of everything we were seeing and hearing, provided practical guidance, and patiently answered all of our questions. While we didn't feel that a birth doula was the right fit for us, the pre-birth class was the perfect compromise. We benefited from an experienced doula's expertise in the comfort of our own home, which gave us the confidence and knowledge we needed heading into delivery and those first weeks of parenthood. Throughout our time with Forever Doula, both Gabrielle and Sarah were professional, reliable, compassionate, and genuinely invested in our family's well-being. We were fortunate to have access to these services through my employer's benefits, but after experiencing the value firsthand, I would absolutely recommend Forever Doula even if I were paying entirely out of pocket. The support we received was worth every penny and made a meaningful difference during one of the most important transitions in our lives.

Working with Ivy Haven Birthwork was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. From the very beginning, I felt so seen, heard, and genuinely supported. This wasn’t just about information or checklists — it was about having someone walk beside me with calm, grounded presence every step of the way. Throughout my pregnancy, I always felt like I had a safe space to ask questions, process emotions, and explore my birth preferences without any judgment. Every visit left me feeling more prepared, more empowered, and more connected to my body and my baby. During labor and birth, Ivy Haven showed up with such quiet strength and intuition — anticipating what I needed before I even had to ask. Whether it was hands-on comfort, encouraging words, or just holding space, the support was everything I hoped for and more. I truly don’t know how I would have navigated it all without that presence. And postpartum… wow. Having someone check in on me — not just the baby — made all the difference. Ivy held space for my recovery, my questions, my tears, and my joy. From helping with practical tips to simply sitting and listening, I felt truly cared for in those tender first weeks. Now, with my baby girl nearly four months old, I still carry the strength and grounding I gained from my experience with Ivy. I’m endlessly grateful.

I hired Shayvonne as a doula, and it was the best decision I made. While my husband was extremely attentive and a wonderful support during labor, Shayvonne provided effective interventions for pain management and also gave my husband an opportunity to rest so he could have energy post delivery. Throughout the whole process, Shayvonne helped me to stay calm and hopeful. When I was too tired to voice my needs or wanted to give up, she quickly picked up on it and provided the encouragement and motivation I needed. There was no doubt in my mind that I could trust her completely to listen to me and advocate for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula.

October 2026

I had the BEST experience with Shay! Her attentiveness during one of the biggest moments of my life was truly incredible for both my husband and me. ❤️ Throughout every contraction, she gave me her all by calming me, reassuring me, and helping me feel supported when I needed it most. But her care didn’t stop once my beautiful baby girl arrived! During that first week postpartum, Shay helped me feel confident in myself and reassured me that I really could do this motherhood thing. She was there during the wee hours of the night, supporting me when I needed rest and literally bringing my baby to my bedside so I could get some much-needed sleep. That may seem like a small gesture to some, but to me, it meant EVERYTHING. She made such a difference in my birth and postpartum experience, and I will forever be grateful for the care she gave our family. She also made sure my husband felt informed and confident, giving him the knowledge and tools to show up for me in the best way possible as we navigated this beautiful new chapter together. I would recommend Shay over and over again to any expecting mom, first-time mom, or mama who deserves to feel supported, cared for, and empowered. Having her by our side was truly a blessing, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

October 2026

First off I want to begin to say she is the most sweetest person I’ve ever met. Very professional very calm great listener and is not afraid to stand on 10 toes behind your wishes. She makes sure of what YOU want and is not afraid to verify what you want over and over right up until you go give birth and even after. She makes sure that your comfortable and that your wishes are heard and one thing I can never get out of my head is her asking me “is this what YOU want” or “ Are you ok with this” “are we on the same birth plan?” even in the hospital in-front of any doctor or nurse she was not afraid to make sure about what IIIII WANTED. She wasn’t afraid to ask questions nor was she afraid to advocate for me. She literally makes it all about you and your birth and your baby. She is available to you at any time if you need her do not be afraid to reach out. She gives great advice she has great techniques that will prepare you for birth during birth and after. This girl deserves an award like I really loved her services she even had a backup plan (still accommodating to your wants and needs) just incase if by any reason she wasn’t available for me when I went into labor. She loves what she does and she’s just a doll. I want her to be my doula again for my next pregnancy 💜
