I’m Shayvonne Anderson, a certified birth and postpartum doula, full-spectrum doula, newborn care specialist, and peer lactation supporter. Since 2020, I have supported growing families through pregnancy, birth, recovery, infant care, and the transition into parenthood. As a mother of seven and grandmother of six, I understand how meaningful it is to feel heard, respected, and cared for during this season. My philosophy centers on informed choice, compassionate support, and respect for each family’s individual needs. I offer evidence-informed education, emotional reassurance, physical comfort, and practical guidance without judgment or pressure. What to expect

I provide personalized birth and postpartum doula support throughout pregnancy, labor, recovery, and early parenthood. Services include prenatal education, birth preparation, continuous labor support, postpartum recovery assistance, newborn care, feeding and lactation support, and emotional reassurance. Each family receives respectful, nonjudgmental care based on their needs, values, and choices.

I hired Shayvonne as a doula, and it was the best decision I made. While my husband was extremely attentive and a wonderful support during labor, Shayvonne provided effective interventions for pain management and also gave my husband an opportunity to rest so he could have energy post delivery. Throughout the whole process, Shayvonne helped me to stay calm and hopeful. When I was too tired to voice my needs or wanted to give up, she quickly picked up on it and provided the encouragement and motivation I needed. There was no doubt in my mind that I could trust her completely to listen to me and advocate for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula.

I had the BEST experience with Shay! Her attentiveness during one of the biggest moments of my life was truly incredible for both my husband and me. ❤️ Throughout every contraction, she gave me her all by calming me, reassuring me, and helping me feel supported when I needed it most. But her care didn’t stop once my beautiful baby girl arrived! During that first week postpartum, Shay helped me feel confident in myself and reassured me that I really could do this motherhood thing. She was there during the wee hours of the night, supporting me when I needed rest and literally bringing my baby to my bedside so I could get some much-needed sleep. That may seem like a small gesture to some, but to me, it meant EVERYTHING. She made such a difference in my birth and postpartum experience, and I will forever be grateful for the care she gave our family. She also made sure my husband felt informed and confident, giving him the knowledge and tools to show up for me in the best way possible as we navigated this beautiful new chapter together. I would recommend Shay over and over again to any expecting mom, first-time mom, or mama who deserves to feel supported, cared for, and empowered. A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery. My role is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your journey.

When should I hire a birth doula?

You are welcome to reach out at any stage of pregnancy\. I recommend booking during your second trimester to allow plenty of time for us to build a relationship, prepare for birth, and discuss your preferences\.

Do I need a doula if I’m planning to have an epidural?

Absolutely! Whether you choose an unmedicated birth, an epidural, or a planned cesarean, you deserve support. I provide comfort measures, emotional reassurance, education, and guidance based on your individual needs and preferences.

Will you replace my partner during labor?

Not at all! My role is to support both you and your partner. I help partners feel comfortable, informed, and involved in the birth experience while respecting how much they wish to participate.
