My husband and I are expecting twin boys and live in Hoboken, NJ at the end of December. We’re looking for an experienced newborn care specialist/night nanny to provide overnight care in our home beginning around late December/early January. Ideally, we would love someone who has experience caring for newborn twins/multiples. I am a first time mom due November 8th. We live in Kinnelon and are looking for postpartum doula support likely 3-4 nights a week to start with a handful of days for education. We have two mature cats in the home and my parents live downstairs. I am planning to breastfeed. We are looking for someone with lactation certification and at least 3-5 years experience. We want someone who can help us rest while also giving us the skills we need to care for our baby. We want to get baby into good habits early around sleep, feeding, etc.

I plan to give birth at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. I am in the process of developing my birth plan. I generally prefer to not use medicine but open to exploring. I feel very strongly I do not want a Caesarian section. Looking for general assistance once we bring the child home, however, I would also be open to having someone be an advocate for me in the delivery room. Once the baby is home I will want someone to check for signs of infection, improvements or safety checks for the home and coaching the parents and mother-in-law on healthy habits.

A night nurse from Oct 4 until the new year. Preferably one that is English and Mandarin speaking (we are an English/Spanish/Mandarin speaking household). We are a working professional Jersey City couple, and are first-time parents. Our journey to parenthood was challenging and required a community of help and support — Margaret is a cancer patient and survivor and our daughter was born via surrogate in August. Margaret is on parental leave through December. We bottle feed with milk from the surrogate, and supplemented with formula when that was necessary (we keep formula on us though—we’ve been through a lot and are prepared for many scenarios). Sleep training, especially through the 4 month regression is important to us, as mentioned, bc we work during the day. We would like the nurse to help with baby laundry (if we haven’t already done it) and making sure there are enough bottles sterilized (we have a sterilizer to make this easy) for us to use during the day once it’s our turn to take over/a day nanny’s turn to take over. We also require the person to be vaccinated or be willing to be vaccinated (Covid, flu, measles, tdap, chicken pox). Our estimated budget is $40/hr.

We're in the early stages of planning for our baby and exploring night nurse and other support options that are out there.

Night nanny should ideally have 10 years of experience, but less will also be considered. They should have Infant CPR and First Aid, safe sleep certification and a recognized Newborn Care or Night Doula credential. The Night Nanny will be caring for a newborn but I haven’t decided if breast or bottle-fed yet. Additional duties may include laundry help (like folding clean laundry) and light kitchen help (putting baby bottles into and out of bottle washer). Estimated budget is $4500 for ten night sessions at twelve hours each over the span of 2 weeks.
