I am looking for a lactation consultant to assist with pumping difficulties. I had twin girls , born on 1/10/25. They were born at 31 weeks, 2 days. They are currently still in the nicu. I am pumping for them and I am getting a good amount of milk. However, I am experiencing a lot of discomfort and soreness in my nipples. I’m getting a lot of rubbing. I’ve tried different size flanges (21, 24, 25, 27, 28). I’m having no luck. No matter what I try I feel like too much of my nipple is being dragged through the flange, causing a lot of rubbing and friction. Eventually when the twins come home I might need help with breast feeding tips on how to breastfeed twins. I’ve breastfed my other 2 children, but no experience with twins.

Long story short a friend of mine recommended I get a doula to help me this time around....I currently have state insurance through new jersey....I am being told by several people that doulas are usually fully covered through the insurance.
