Hello! My name is Lindsay and I live in Wilmington, DE near Bellvue State Park. I am 37 weeks on 10/21, pregnant with my second daughter. I’m planning to give birth at Christiana Care. My husband and I will not have family or friends available to help watch our 2.5 year old daughter until Nov 8th. She has no food allergies or special needs, and we have a cat. I am in need of someone qualified to watch my daughter at home or at the hospital if I am to go into labor early. Last time, I went into labor at 37 weeks, so there is precedence for this concern. I plan to give birth at Christiana Care in northern Delaware. I’d like to find a doula that takes my insurance and can provide the 3 prenatal, 3 postnatal visits and labor/delivery support. I’m going to be a first time, single mom by choice and am not sure who, if anyone, will be in the delivery room with me and I’d like an advocate and someone I trust to help support and help me understand what is going on and my choices in real time. I’ve also never given birth before so someone that can help me figure out what to expect, what should even be included in a birth plan and what choices or things I should consider. As a single mom I will be happy for any and all additional help someone can provide, I anticipate being very overwhelmed those first few weeks. In-Network with Highmark BCBS is a must.
