Carly Ann Marshall-Braun

8 years of experience

I am Chicago based childbirth educator, doula, and soon-to-be midwife. I am passionate about supporting undisturbed physiologic birth. I believe in healthy-at-any-size. I've been teaching Evidence Based Birth for two years and I recently finished Midwifery school (to be licensed in 2026). I adore working with queer families, trans folks, and families who have used fertility support. My expertise spans home birth, birth centers, and hospital birth. Most people who take my class are at a birth center or hospital. Many want an empowered low-intervention birth, but most also want information about the benefits of epidurals, and when is the best time to get one. I am passionate about you having the birth YOU want, and having agency over your body and birth, no matter what this journey brings. I provide evidence based information, grounded energy, and listening ear.

Carly Ann was our doula for the birth of my second child and she was so incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and her presence was deeply grounding for me. Having her guidance in the hospital room was incredible for my husband and me both, and it just felt like we didn't need to worry about anything with Carly Ann there to remind us of anything or prompt us in important moments! She also came by to support after the baby was born and I appreciated feeling like I could just relax and be cared for by her. Super grateful that we got to work with her and I highly recommend her to anyone interested in working with her!! x

We interviewed a few doulas before choosing Damiana, and she immediately stood out as someone who really understood us and made us feel comfortable. She was warm, thoughtful, and even offered a reference, which was really helpful in making our decision.

We started working with her about 2.5months before the birth, and she was incredibly supportive throughout. She met with us weekly, helped us put together a solid birth plan, and really took the time to make sure we felt emotionally ready (not just prepared for labor, but ready for the whole experience).

Also, she met us at the hospital shortly after we arrived at the hospital when I went into labor and was incredibly supportive. It was our 1st birth, and having her there to guide both me and my husband through everything made a huge difference. She was so reassuring and helpful. I honestly can’t imagine doing it without her.

So grateful to have had Damiana as part of our birth team. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and truly supportive birth doula.

Hi! I'm Natasha, a mother of 2 daughters and a birth doula serving the St. Louis, Missouri area and the Metro East area in Southern Illinois since 2021. I like to have a holistic approach to the pregnancy and birth experience. I like to focus on nutrition and positioning techniques during pregnancy to help minimize end-of-pregnancy concerns and labor challenges. I started my doula journey shortly after my first born because I wanted to help other families to know that they do have a voice that matters. Having a cesarean myself, then a HBAC, I have a unique perspective on the difference of each of those experiences. I learned the importance of having the proper support, the right to informed choice and the resources to have a positive pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. That is what I hope I can provide to my community.

Recent review

I highly recommend Natasha. She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to teach you a lot about birth beforehand, while also providing excellent resources for both the mental and physical preparation, as well as postpartum support. During labor, she was a calm and reassuring presence, bringing both expertise and comfort. When we discovered our baby was sunny-side up during delivery, she guided us through the Spinning Babies Three Sisters of Balance technique, which helped us reposition the baby optimally. Her support made a real difference in our birth experience.

Where do I start… Parul has been one of the most caring, compassionate, insightful, knowledgeable, and reliable PERSON I ever met. Not just as a doula. You feel that she loves what she do and the people she do it for. she has been there to answer every single question no matter at the time of day or night. she listens, make sure you’re heard and gives comfort and straightforward knowledge, tips, and encouragement. She’ll make sure everything goes as planned in your birth plan and be your biggest cheerleader and advocate. Talking to her is like talking to an old friend! I have learned so much from her. As a first time mom, I do not believe my experience could’ve been better.

Working with Mari was one of the best decisions I made for my birth experience. From the very beginning, she was an incredible source of knowledge and resources — always sharing up-to date information and continuously educating herself so I felt confident in the guidance I was receiving. She truly made my birthing experience feel safer, calmer, and more supported. She was a strong advocate for me, helping me voice my preferences and ensuring I felt heard every step of the way. I never felt alone in the process. She was always responsive, approachable, and genuinely kind — no question was ever too small. Knowing she was on call and available whenever I needed her brought such peace of mind. Her steady presence, encouragement, and reassurance made all the difference. I’m so grateful for her support and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and deeply committed to her clients.

Hey there! My name is Elly and I am a certified full spectrum doula and a mama to three littles. I offer fertility, birth and postpartum support. I'm located in Jefferson Park and I'm a born and raised Chicagoan. I am a nursing student with a Bachelors in Health Science, and I bring my background knowledge in maternal health disparities into this work by working on a sliding fee scale for families with a tight budget. I am passionate about serving moms and dads in whatever way they need. I strive to provide high quality, compassionate and personalized care to families. No two families needs are the same and through great communication and a never-ending willingness to learn, I do my best to provide a fully curated experience. When I'm not busy at a birth or educating families at a prenatal, I am chasing after my three little gremlins be it at a forest preserve or around the toy section at target, haha. I love being active and cooking. Don't be surprised if I show up with a tin of cookies or a pot full of soup at your prenatal or postpartum visit. I love feeding my families! Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me, and I can't wait to serve you and your family in your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum!

Elly was an absolutely integral part of my successful natural VBAC labor and delivery. Through active labor, she suggested movement patterns and positions that were not only helpful for pain management but also helped improve the baby’s position and descent. She explained everything and always offered it in a helpful way rather than being pushy or demanding. I felt like she anticipated many of my needs and wants during labor before I even needed to ask. I also really appreciated the amount of involvement she encouraged from my partner. He really wanted to be supportive and the tactics that Elly provided allowed him to be so much more purposeful and helpful. Overall, Elly was truly supportive of my birth plan and did everything she could to ensure it became a reality. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for a positive, empowered birthing experience, but in particular I would highly recommend her to mamas who want to go natural!

I came to Amy feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and completely disconnected from my body. I wasn’t looking for a quick fix—I was searching for someone who could truly see the bigger picture and help me heal from the inside out. That’s exactly what I found in Amy. From our first session, she created a space that felt safe, sacred, and deeply validating. She took the time to get to know me—all of me—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Her knowledge as a Naturopathic Practitioner is incredible, but what really makes her special is the way she weaves together ancient wisdom, intuitive insight, and modern functional care. She didn’t just give me a list of supplements—she gave me a plan rooted in nature, mindfulness, and sustainable wellness. From herbal tinctures to dietary shifts to energy work and spiritual practices, I felt completely supported on every level. My sleep improved, my cycles regulated, and most importantly—I felt like myself again. Amy is a true healer and a wise woman in every sense. If you’re looking for someone who will walk beside you, advocate for your sovereignty, and help you come home to your body, your rhythms, and your power—she is it. I am forever grateful for the care I received and will continue working with her for years to come.
