Service introduction

Leveraging my mother's experience as a doula for 30 years and my own experience, I developed an inimitable care mode for perinatal as a graduate student that is holistic, evidence-based, and grounded in experience to support the best possible outcomes in a range of birth settings, in collaboration with a trusting care team.

Packages
Birth doula
By engaging a birth doula early in your pregnancy, you benefit from a introductory conversation, an intake appointment, a birth planning conversation, and engage in weekly check-ins through your delivery. You are able to deepen your relationship and sense of trust with both your doula and your physician/midwife. By the time you are in labor, you've reached a newer level of self-awareness, built new skills, and expanded your knowledge about childbirth, parenting, and your own body and relationships. You are supported in early labor at home and feel empowered to go your chosen site of birth confident in your informed choices and decisions. You are supported through your deliver and breastfeeding if you so choose, and you are well positioned to parent with confidence postpartum with six weekly check-ins. With this care model, a doula is a facilitator, guiding you and your partner. You take the baby's lead, following your intuition with trust and confidence.

We interviewed a few doulas before choosing Damiana, and she immediately stood out as someone who really understood us and made us feel comfortable. She was warm, thoughtful, and even offered a reference, which was really helpful in making our decision.

We started working with her about 2.5months before the birth, and she was incredibly supportive throughout. She met with us weekly, helped us put together a solid birth plan, and really took the time to make sure we felt emotionally ready (not just prepared for labor, but ready for the whole experience).

Also, she met us at the hospital shortly after we arrived at the hospital when I went into labor and was incredibly supportive. It was our 1st birth, and having her there to guide both me and my husband through everything made a huge difference. She was so reassuring and helpful. I honestly can’t imagine doing it without her.

So grateful to have had Damiana as part of our birth team. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and truly supportive birth doula.

We worked with Nellie as a night nurse and daytime nanny for our newborn and she took excellent care of her. She is very communicative and reliable, which was incredibly important for us. It's essential to find someone you completely trust to care for your babies, and we found that with Nellie.

Anelia has been a true lifesaver for our family. We have used her night doula services starting the first week home from hospital with our second child and it has made such a difference in terms of how our baby and us parents are sleeping. She has provided us with excellent guidance to help our son develop good sleep habits. On top of that she is so sweet and caring, a pleasure to be around and easy to trust with our baby. Highly recommend.

Damiana is a very observant doula! She got to know my baby really well and was able to let us know what she likes and dislikes which helped us transition once her services were done. She is also very caring and personable. I felt very comfortable around her and having her care for my newborn. Damiana will also go above and beyond by making me a healthy snack for nursing and giving lots of useful suggestions and tips for baby and me during this special time. If she has concerns about how the baby is doing (reflux for example) she let me know and gave me a plan for how to care for my baby after feedings. She helped me set things up in the nursery and offered some suggestions to make it even more functional. Damiana is very knowledgeable about all things related to baby and maternity.

Damiana has been taking care of our son from 4 months to now 8 months when my husband and I went back to work. Our son absolutely adores her and lights up when he sees her! She does such a wonderful job caring for him and adjusting to his schedule needs. She works on helping him achieve each new milestones and communicating with us on things he may need and things she noticed. Damiana is easy to talk to and makes you feel instantly comfortable! We are so grateful for her support and care for us and our son. It made the transition back to work that much easier knowing he was being well taken care of.

I reached out for a male fertility consultation with Damiana. The best decision I've ever made. Not only did I learn about proper nutrition, but the most important thing is that I decided to quit smoking. Will recommend 10/10.

Anelia has looked after my children age four years old and nine months since January 2022. Anelia started working for our family when our youngest was only 3 months old. From the very beginning we were so impressed by her warm, caring, positive demeanor that everyone seems to gravitate towards. Our four year old can be quite reserved at first especially with unfamiliar people but Anelia managed to make her feel comfortable in her presence instantly.

Anelia respects the way we choose to parent and follows through with the same principles while our children are in her care, which we really appreciate. Right from the beginning she seemed to instinctively know just what we needed from her while we were navigating a new dynamic as a family of four while. She is so knowledgeable and experienced with infants and always goes above and beyond while looking after the kids. She teaches, she listens and engages my four year old with so much imaginative play all while giving my our little one the attention and care he needs too. Anelia is incredibly organized and tidy too, which we find so helpful, she also is very talented in the kitchen and has helped us so much with meal preparation. We trust Anelia implicitly and she truly feels like an extension of our family.

We worked with Damiana as our birth doula. She is very warm, a great listener and really good at strategizing plans nicely balancing your needs keeping in what's best for you. She gave me excellent advice on dealing/coping with some unexpected personal difficulties close to the delivery date. As an added bonus she takes great pictures!

Damiana has been fantastic and very helpful in advocating for me during a medically complex pregnancy. She has been there for me from the start and always lets me know what to expect next. Her pre-conception and fertility counseling was very helpful in educating us what we needed to do to get pregnant. I'm excited to continue working with her to bring my baby into the world!

Damiana is wonderful! She helped us at nights with our son. She’s so warm and loving. You instantly feel comfortable with handing over your child for the night. She listened to all the concerns I was having regarding my son and his digestive system. He was having a lot of gas pain. In the morning, she texted me detailed notes on the night and made sure to call out the things I talked to her about the night before. She also gave some great advice on how to make him more comfortable. I highly recommend her!

Anelia is truly a gem! We have worked with many nannies & newborn specialists and she is exceptional! She cared overnight & during the day for my daughter & newborn son. She is completely trustworthy & cares for children as if they are her own. She is calm, patient, loving, hard working, great with time management, and goes above and beyond of what is asked. Both my husband and I were truly impressed with her work ethic. She is amazing!

Anelia was fantastic helping out with our baby boy! She took great care of him, helped keep the house tidy, made delicious treats for us and even had secret potions for our sons rashes! It’s obvious she really cares about children and will try her hardest to help out in any way you need.

Damiana B was amazing. I made the decision to get a doula really late in my pregnancy. I was hesitant at first. She made me feel comfortable. When i was at the hospital she came right away and stay with me until after my baby was born. Glad i made the choice Damiana made things a lot easier by just being there. 💕

Damiana was our nighttime doula. She was very warm and loving with our 5 month baby and really put us at ease when we were sleep deprived! I trusted her completely with him - she was vigilant and always checking up on him throughout the night, even when he was sleeping. However, her best quality was that she was able to provide good advice around self care. I really appreciated the time we had her!

I received great advice about my reproductive health, and my world has been changed learning about pelvic floor exercises and what they do for your body. Great information about nutrition/ Ayurvedic health concepts and I'm feeling steady improvement. Thank you for helping me listen to my body better!
