My midwife story began with the home births of my own children. They inspired me to share the transformative experience of owning my birth, finding my own path, and becoming Me. I began my home birth midwifery journey through traditional apprenticeship, where I was more or less self taught. I embarked on a journey which took me halfway across the world to a charity birth clinic in the Philippines. Then I returned again to my mini-farm in Connecticut where I raised and home schooled my three children and ran a small community practice. Over a span of 15 years, my experiences included solo practice, busy group practice, and birth center, blending of traditional midwifery with formalized education. In 2025, I graduated from Midwives College of Utah and earned my credential as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). Currently I work in solo practice, supporting families in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and eastern Connecticut with holistic, personalized pregnancy care, home birth, postpartum and newborn care with all visits in your own home.

When I was looking for a midwife for my second pregnancy and first home birth, I wasn’t sure what to look for. After interviewing a few midwives, Cynthia really stood out to me. From the beginning, I felt like she genuinely wanted to get to know me and understand my previous birth experience. She made me feel heard and supported right away. I especially appreciated that she offered a FaceTime meeting so I could see her beforehand, and I loved how she included my daughter in that first interaction. Having a three-year-old, it made such a difference that Cynthia offered home visits, it took away the stress of bringing a child to appointments. I knew I wanted a home birth, but I had never truly envisioned what that would look like. Cynthia was incredibly patient and helped guide me in creating the birth experience I wanted. She supported me in having the kind of pregnancy and birth that felt right for me. She is very knowledgeable and was always available to answer questions or just talk things through. One of my favorite parts was how she included my daughter in every appointment, letting her help, listen to the baby’s heartbeat, and taking the time to talk and play with her. It made the experience so special for our whole family. When it came time for my birth, I had a “go with the flow” mindset, and Cynthia fully supported me in that. I felt safe, respected, and cared for the entire time. I also truly appreciated the postpartum care. It was personal, calming, and far more attentive than the standard six-week follow-up. Cynthia made sure both baby and I were doing well with multiple visits after the birth. I had such a wonderful experience with Cynthia. I would highly recommend her to anyone considering a home birth, and I will absolutely be using her again in the future.

Kaitlyn Reed

Hi! I'm Kaitlyn. I am a DONA Certified Birth Doula and a Rhode Island Certified Perinatal Doula experienced in working with those choosing to have a home birth or water birth, those walking through birth anxiety, and those needing strong human rights advocacy in the hospital setting. I utilize evidence-based childbirth education to teach, Spinning Babies techniques to physically support, trauma-informed care to emotionally support, and Birth Monopoly training to encourage advocacy with my clients. I take an overall holistic and natural-minded approach to care. I work with my clients throughout their pregnancy, continuously through labor and birth, and for a few weeks postpartum in the hospital, at home, and in birth centers. I also offer supportive care during the postpartum period with physical and emotional support for mother's, newborn care, cooking, light cleaning, and more. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, and prior to becoming a Birth Doula, I spent a decade professionally teaching. My career has been spent educating and caring for children and their families, which has proven to be extremely beneficial to my birth work. It’s my desire to continue supporting and loving families as they engage in the most important moments of their lives. I birthed both of my children at home and I have a deep love and respect for home births. Through my own pregnancy and birth experiences, I found that having proper support from people you truly trust and feel safe with is absolutely essential for a satisfying birth experience. I'm eager to support you, educate you, reassure you, and help you advocate for everything you want your birth to be. It's my goal to ensure you always feel safe, heard, loved, respected, and empowered throughout your journey.

Kaitlyn has been a long time friend. We were both excited when we found out that we were both pregnant and only a day apart with our boys! This was my first pregnancy and her second. Unfortunately, we live in different states and didn’t see each other much in person. When I was 17 I lost my mom and Kaitlyn was always by my side. The same holds true, even in different states, during my pregnancy. Kaitlyn was always a text, Snapchat, or voice message away from answering any questions I would have. No question or concern was too much to ask! At 20 weeks I learned my son had a cyst in his brain that could indicate a chromosomal abnormality (at 27 weeks we found out that he would be ok after many appointments at a specialist). Kaitlyn was my first call, she kept me calm and although there were no answers she could give me that would take the worry away, it was a blessing to have someone virtually there to support me. I went into labor first and had a hospital birth, everything was beautiful for the first couple of hours and then reality hit. If only postpartum held the same excitement feeling I felt for 9 months. Kaitlyn was in labor at that time and I still felt the love and support that I had throughout my pregnancy. It wasn’t until a month or so after giving birth when she mentioned about becoming a doula and I couldn’t agree more that she would be perfect for that profession! She was doing the work of a doula, virtually, but it didn’t feel like we were 100 of miles apart. If we both were up during the night (throughout pregnancy and postpartum) we would text or Snapchat each other videos of whatever issue we were having. She had advice that I would’ve never thought of. Being that my mom passed away and this was my first pregnancy, I didn’t have that women to go to for advice, to cry to, or just to share our struggles with. Kaitlyn was that person for me, granted she is not my mom but she is someone who would give me honest advice, someone who would wipe my tears through the phone with laughter. She did all this before making it her profession. Her compassion and care make her the best choice for anyone to choose her to be their doula.

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. Bridgette Ventimilla

Starting at a young age, I had a passion for children and babies. When I was younger, I wanted to be a pediatrician and a mom. I followed down the medical pathway as a CNA in an Intensive Care Unit and I was able to care for a lot of people in very vulnerable moments. Through this I experienced a lot of last moments with people. After becoming pregnant in 2022 and having my son, I realized that I have a passion for assisting women through pregnancy and ultimately through labor and delivery. I decided that I was ready to take this step and turn this passion into an opportunity to serve others in the most beautiful and natural journey that we as women get to encounter. My mission as your birth doula is to support you through your natural journey from pregnancy through childbirth and into motherhood. I take a holistic approach when assisting you with reaching your goals and aim to empower you in making conscious decisions surrounding your birth. I believe that you are in total control of your decisions and support your ability to trust your intuition on what is right for you and your baby. Your body will NOT grow a baby you can't birth.

Bridgette is absolutely amazing! She is so passionate, nurturing, caring, and honestly so fun! She brings an unexpected edgy charm with her and it usually comes out at all the best moments. She will educated, guide, nurture and support you like no other doula will. 100% would hire her for my next birth, but I am moving.

Hi there! I'm Chelsea – a wife, stay-at-home parent of two, certified birth and postpartum doula, and babywearing educator based in Connecticut. With over two decades of experience working with children and families, my journey includes a master's degree in education and 11 years of teaching music to students from PreK through grade 12. My path to becoming a doula was inspired by the isolating and challenging nature of the postpartum months. Having navigated this journey myself, I realized the importance of support during this period. I aim to alleviate the isolation many face by offering guidance and understanding. Having been the first in my friend group to experience parenthood, I understand the complexities and uncertainties. My role is to provide a compass, steering you away from the confusing and sometimes overwhelming information available online. Join me in creating a supportive community, where I offer education, solidarity, empowerment, strength, and empathy to ease your transition into parenthood

Chelsea was referred to me by a postpartum doula in my first trimester. She was the only birth doula I interviewed because I knew right away that she was the right woman for the job: A no-BS, science-based, level-headed millennial with just the right dose of sarcasm. Ahead of birth, Chelsea visited with me and my husband twice to give us crash courses in labor/delivery, Spinning Baby techniques, and Baby Basics 101 (changing a diaper, installing and using a car seat, swaddling, and babywearing). Thanks to her prep, we felt far less anxious going into labor. At the hospital, it was clear that she has mastered the perfect balance of calm encouragement and strong advocacy with medical providers. She always stays professional, but is never afraid to push back on your behalf. I went through a pretty long and difficult labor but thanks to the support of Chelsea and her colleague Rachel, who joined us for the second half through delivery, I never felt afraid, powerless, or unsafe. After birth, we continued to retain Chelsea's services as long as we could as an overnight/postpartum doula, allowing my husband and I to get much-needed rest as we both went back to work immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chelsea for any doula needs.

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a Certified Perinatal Doula (CPD) and artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. I’ve been supporting birthing families since 2022, but my path to this work started long before then. Living with endometriosis shaped my understanding of how essential it is to feel seen, heard, and supported in healthcare. When I was first learning how to navigate life with endo, I needed someone who could inform, empower, and walk with me through the unknown. Now, I’m honored to be that person for others as a doula. I’m committed to inclusive, compassionate, and evidence-based support. My approach is rooted in deep listening, genuine connection, and a belief that birth can be a powerful, joyful, and transformative experience. I offer support across four pillars: physical, emotional, informational, and advocacy, so that you and your birth partner feel informed, respected, and confident throughout your journey. I also accept Rhode Island-based insurances including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Neighborhood, United, and Medicaid. I’ll help you explore your options, prepare for the unexpected, and make choices that reflect your values. I work collaboratively with your care team to create an easeful, grounded birth environment so you can focus on birthing your baby, your way.

Emily was my doula through the pregnancy and natural birth of my daughter and I can’t say enough good things about her! Emily has a wonderful energy that makes her a joy to work with, but she is also a fierce advocate who will go to bat for you. She is the perfect combination of the consummate professional and a caring friend. She was with me every step of the way and helped me achieve a beautiful, meaningful, natural birth. And on top of it all, she is a talented photographer and she captured both my pregnancy and my daughter’s birth perfectly. I cannot recommend her enough!

November 2026

Kim was an absolute angel to my husband and I during my labor and delivery! She brought such a calming and reassuring presence to the room, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better person to have by our side. She listened to our preferences, gave us sound advice, and made sure we felt heard and advocated for throughout the entire experience. Even during my pregnancy, she was always there to help. She checked in regularly, answered any questions I had, and even helped me figure out the right questions to ask my doctor so I could feel more informed and prepared going into delivery. One thing I really appreciated about Kim is that you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring, and her support never felt like she was just doing a job. She truly cared about me, my baby, and our experience. I’m so grateful we chose her and I would recommend her a thousand times over!

November 2026

Kim was very knowledgeable about various aspects surrounding pregnancy and birth. Kim was able to listen to my situation, assess all the things I would need to best support this pregnancy, work with me on a schedule that worked for both of us and even helped me communicate with my providers with understanding. She was very resourceful when it came to accessing different readings and websites, very timely in responding to messages, timely with birth planning and was helpful when it came to my husband needing more information on how to care for me and my baby. Overall best experience ever had, will be returning again.

October 2026

I can’t recommend Tanya enough as a doula! She was incredibly supportive, caring, and attentive throughout my entire birth experience, going above and beyond to make sure I felt prepared, supported, and empowered. Tanya provided helpful exercises and tools to prepare me for labor, offered both physical and emotional support throughout the birthing process, and helped me navigate the different stages of labor. She also translated and explained things with the medical team so I could better understand what was happening. Most importantly, she helped me stay focused on my birth preferences and advocated for me when I needed it most. She has such a warm and calming presence while also being confident and assertive when necessary. I had a challenging labor without an epidural, and Tanya’s physical and mental support made such a huge difference in helping me get through it. She helped me feel stronger, more grounded, and more confident throughout the experience. I’m so grateful to have had her by my side during such a meaningful and intense experience. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated doula who will truly go above and beyond for you, I wholeheartedly recommend Tanya!
