About me

Hi! I’m Natasha Mizner, RN, BSN, IBCLC and the Founder and Co-Owner of Good Life Lactation! I started my career working at the bedside as a mother/baby RN for 10 years. Helping thousands of breastfeeding dyads in those first few days after birth made me realize the importance of education and support for families in the postpartum period. Since 2021, I have experience in both the hospital setting and private practice as a lactation consultant. I opened Good Life Lactation in 2022 with the goal of providing non-judgmental, evidence based, quality support to families. In 2024, I brought Emily on as a co-owner to be able to reach more families. My husband and I have three daughters ages 11, 7 and 2. Our youngest gave us a challenge as an infant. We worked through silent reflux, oral dysfunction, bottle difficulties, weight gain concerns and had her tethered oral tissues released. It was a difficult first 6 months, but we made it through and she is thriving. As part of my commitment to providing the best possible support, I am passionate about continuing my education and staying up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in lactation consulting. I have advanced training in oral habilitation and tethered oral tissues (tongue/lip ties). When I hear stories about families who have gone through breastfeeding difficulties with little to no support- the potentially avoidable stress, pain and guilt that they experienced breaks my heart. Families deserve better! While I can't promise to solve all issues or guarantee a flawless feeding journey, I can offer my support and expertise to guide you. I consider it an honor to help families navigate feeding their little ones.

Initial In-home Evaluation
If you are greater than two weeks postpartum, our home visit fee is $25. We waive the $25 home visit fee if you are two weeks or less postpartum,. If you are outside of your practitioner’s travel range, we charge an additional $25 travel fee. What to Expect: During our initial 60 min evaluation, we will do a thorough intake of your health history and delivery. With your permission, we will do an oral assessment on your baby to check their anatomy and function. We have an infant scale that we can use to check on overall growth as well as do a weighted feed. If you are latching your baby at the breast/chest we will ideally do a feeding during this visit. For a weighted feed we will weigh your baby before and after feed and this will let us know approximately how much breastmilk your baby drank during that feeding. Additionally, we will address your concerns and come up with a recommended feeding plan. Please note the price below is only for those who cash-pay and do not utilize insurance.

Great flexibility with scheduling and meeting location, and very friendly! Emily has a lot of knowledge and was great at adapting to our unique situation and providing the kind of support we needed. I liked that the LCs weren’t pushy or judgy in any way. I would recommend Good Life Lactation to anyone just starting out or struggling to feed their baby.

Emily is truly the best. Reflecting back on this past year, I can confidentially say that Emily made the single biggest impact on my son’s first year of life even though we only had a handful of sessions together.

We sought lactation support when my son was a week old because I knew something wasn’t right and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. I didn’t feel like I got a ton of support from lactation at the hospital I gave birth at and the concerns I brought up to doctors at the hospital and pediatrician where minimized because we had a somewhat difficult birthing experience.

I filled out the intake/pre appointment form and at our first meeting with Emily, it was very clear she had spent time reading it and took time to note my concerns. We were able to hit the ground running because of that. She was the first medical professional to really look at my son’s skull- the thing I was most concerned about- and tell me she saw what I was talking about. She validated my concerns with his skull “appearance”. I almost cried with gratitude because isn’t every mom supposed to think their baby is perfect? She was the first medical professional who made me feel like my concerns were valid, my intuition was right and that I wasn’t just a bad mom who thought her baby looked weird.

Because of her validation and advice on what to talk to our pediatrician about, we were able to get a referral to Children’s Mercy which sent us down the whole process of diagnosis and ended up needing two neurosurgeries and helmet therapy to address a fused suture in my son’s skull.

Through the diagnosis process, Emily supported our breastfeeding journey that was complicated by my son’s condition. She helped me figure out pumping and I was able to successfully exclusively pump for over nine months! It obviously was not what I had envisioned for our breastfeeding journey, but because of my son’s condition it was the best, most sustainable option for my family. Emily worked with us to figure that out and I truly am so thankful I was able to provide my son breastmilk as he went through his surgeries.

Without Emily, I know we would not have advocated for our son that early and he would not have been diagnosed until much later, when the options available are a lot more invasive and difficult. His condition can cause developmental delays because of pressure on the skull, which they alleviated when he was 6 weeks old. Because of the early intervention we had available to us, my son is thriving. Genuinely so thankful. For a vulnerable first time mom with concerns, Emily was the best person to support my family!

I had an in home visit when my daughter was 3 weeks old with Audrey and she was absolutely amazing! She made me feel so comfortable and she’s incredibly knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions, set up a plan for us, and sent tons of resources for me to refer back to. It was so individualized and helped set me up for success with breastfeeding! I definitely recommend Good Life Lactation and was so happy with the help we received from Audrey!

Audrey was incredible to work with!
My girlie (third baby) was 5 days old when I reached out to Good Life Lactation with a concern about an oral restriction and pain with breastfeeding. Audrey came to my home the next day. She was calm, comforting and knowledgeable- the kind of feeling you get around your own mother. She filled my toolbox with tools including confidence, oral exercises, newborn stretches, a team approach if needed, postpartum support for myself and a peaceful mind. She checked on us after the visit, too! I am so very grateful for Audrey and how simple this was on my end. I would recommend her to my own sister (but she lives in London!) and best friends!
