About Jesse

As a full spectrum doula, integrative lactation and feeding specialist, and licensed massage therapist, I have a passion for supporting all genders, bodies, and family structures through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My personal birthing experiences include a planned home birth, turned hospital induction, turned cesarean, followed by a home birth VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean.) I have supported births ranging from unmedicated to planned cesareans, and would love to help you achieve the birth that is best for you. I especially value the opportunity to work with queer and trans people, neurodivergent families, and people preparing for births after cesareans. I stay up to date on recommended vaccines to maintain the safety of the populations I work with.

Pregnancy, Labor, and Birth Support

From the time my services are contracted, I will provide educational and emotional resources via text, email or phone. My schedule of support includes a welcome meeting where we review your personal goals and needs, two group educational classes to augment your birth preparation process, and an individual meeting in your home to finalize your preferences around your birth. I go on call for your labor at 38 weeks (unless a previous plan of early delivery was anticipated) and will be on call for you until your birth has happened. During recovery I will do a virtual visit the day after the birth, and an in person visit around a week after to follow up on your physical, emotional, and mental health, offer any needed resources, and process your birth if you would like.

I was so thankful to have Jesse as our postpartum doula. They always showed kind, loving care when taking care of our baby; I knew he was in safe, expert hands whenever she was with him. I deeply appreciated their knowledge and guidance, especially the way they pointed out key development markers that gave us much-needed confidence. What makes Jesse truly special is the way she cares for the whole family. While my birth didn’t go as planned, they served as a vital sounding board—commiserating and encouraging me exactly when I needed it most. She has a rare ability to intuit what needs to be done without being asked, whether they were bringing incredible baked goods or jumping in with meal prep and cooking. Jesse is a professional who brings both evidence-based expertise and a warm, grounding presence. I will always treasure the time we had with them, and if we have more children, she will be the first person we invite back into our home.

I interviewed several postpartum doulas, and I'm so grateful Jesse was available to help care for my little family when my daughter was born last year. She surpassed my every expectation for what a postpartum doula could offer. I'm unsure I would have been able to enjoy my postpartum experience without her! Jesse made me a better parent in ways big and small. I described her to a friend as a modern Mary Poppins. Yes, rest. But also baby wearing, lactation support, and 1,001 intangibles I'm unsure how to articulate. Jesse is a knowledgeable professional, and I'm so grateful for the care she showed us. Every family deserves the magic a Jesse brings!

Jesse is an absolutely wonderful doula and human being! To me, she set the standard for postpartum support, going above and beyond in ways that felt thoughtful, sweet, and genuinely caring. I had a c-section, and from the very first night, Jesse made both me and our baby feel completely cared for. She treated our little one with incredible tenderness throughout our two weeks together and even cut his fingernails without us asking in one of her last nights with us. She anticipated my needs in ways I didn’t even realize I had. She was proactive about chores, always looking for ways to help around the house, and it was such a joy to go to sleep to a messy house and wake up to a clean, organized home. Plus, she brought me breakfast each morning, cleaned my pump parts, and offered a wealth of knowledge and support in terms of recovering from a c-section and breastfeeding. She even brought us homemade bread a few times, which was such a sweet touch. Her presence is a rare combination of warmth, professionalism, and thoughtfulness. Her attention to detail is fantastic. I’ve worked with more than one doula, and Jesse is the one I’ll always turn to whenever we need overnight care for our son. She’s truly a delight to be cared for by, and any family would be lucky to have her.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take insurance?

Currently I am not able to accept any direct insurance payments since reimbursement rates for insurance coverage are abysmally low and would not allow us to have a sustainable income. I have previously worked with supplemental benefits such as Carrot, Progeny, and Maven. If you’d like to see if your benefits could be used, I am happy to help you in that process.
