Alyssa is a real rockstar!! 🫶🏻 After having a much harder birth and breastfeeding journey the first time, I was honestly so afraid I was going to go through all of that again. Instead, this experience was completely different. She gave me the confidence, education, and support I needed, and it not only helped me heal physically and emotionally, but it also made my breastfeeding journey so much smoother! 🤍 Because of her, I now feel healthy, confident, and ready to get back to doing what I love. I’ll always be so grateful for everything she's done for our family. She has such an incredible gift and so many mamas are blessed because of her! 😌👏💛

Alyssa came in to our lives with just about a month before our daughter arrived. Our daughter was breech, and our OB was not supportive in our desire for a labor breech delivery. After changing hospitals, Alyssa joined our team. She was instantly supportive and caring, a feeling that my wife described as “knowing I wanted her as the doula before I finished my call”. Alyssa was there every step of the way, from a midnight water break, to a 30 hour labor. She kept my wife company through contractions, doctor visits, worries and pain. When labor suddenly intensified, she was working with the doctors excellently and supporting both me and my wife. When my wife suddenly felt a sharp pain, Alyssa was there to tell the doctors it was time to pivot to a c section. And it was lifesaving that she did. My wife had a rupture that required emergency attention, and still lost 5 quarts of blood. Luckily, both my wife and daughter were ok by the end of the surgery. Alyssa continued to provide us support and post partum attention. Alyssa is a doula I would recommend to anyone, especially someone looking for someone with attention to detail, a kind heart, a compassionate ear, and the ability to take decisive action in critical moments. She saved my wife, my daughter, and also my own life. 5 stars, wish I could give more.

Alyssa was really wonderful. We engaged her at the last minute (just three days before the birth), and she was immediately fully present and available to answer our questions leading up to our hospital stay. She brought a calm, peaceful energy to the delivery room and was an incredible support to my wife during some very stressful circumstances. She was fully available to us in the weeks following delivery; we really benefitted from her warm, thoughtful advice. Would 10/10 recommend Alyssa for anyone looking to hire a doula!!

Frequently asked questions

What are my options if you don't take my insurance?

Your best bet is to call your member services with your insurance and give them your plan information and ask if they reimburse for doulas. If they don’t I will provide you with an invoice receipt afterwards that you can still seek compensation for regardless of if I accept your insurance company or plan! It’s always worth a shot and sometimes if you can get your medical provider to notate in your medical chart that a doula is medically necessary for your birth (can even be for mental health, or the reduce the risk of medical interventions in labor and reduce the risk of C-section by 40% to have a doula at your birth! This can sometimes get an insurance to reimburse you when they otherwise wouldn’t!

Do you accept Carrot Fertility Benefits?

YES! I am fully covered and preapproved as a preferred provider by carrot and my carrot clients usually qualify for a discounted rate!

Do you take FSA/HSA payments?

YES! I can accept payments you make from an HSA or FSA through the secure processing platform Stripe!

Do you offer customized birth packages?

Certainly! Contact us with the details for a quote!

Do you have experience with high risk pregnancies?

Yes! I have tons of experience supporting high risk pregnancies and diagnoses of: fetal growth restriction, gestational diabetes, IVF, VCI, EDS, multiples, preterm birth, history of previous losses, conditions like twin to twin transfusion syndrome, and many other complications!

What happens if you have an emergency during my labor?

Not to worry! I’ve never missed a birth in my career! However, I understand the importance of having a backup doula (lovely, experienced doulas who agree to be on call for my clients when they don’t have a client of their own) Yes, you would be able to meet this person in advance if it would put you at ease!
