Hi! My name is Chaya! I’m a mom of 3, full spectrum doula, photographer, placenta encapsulation specialist, and student midwife. I dove deep into birthwork 5 years ago after the birth of my daughter (19y). I was so shocked at how the level of care in the US, was far behind other countries. I wanted to serve, educate, and provide wholeheartedly to my clients. I love to learn and educate myself. I believe in autonomy and full informed consent, so rest assured, you’ll always have my guidance but full on support for whatever decisions you decide are best for you!

Horrifying and worst experience ever. I had hired chaya from bornbir and paid $1600 for birth and prenatal support. Despite informing 24 hour prior that my wife’s water is broke, here comes the surprise doula was not present for active labor as well as the actual delivery. All the doctors and nurses tried contacting the doula but instead of being humane and supportive chaya started using contractual language and said she won’t be able to make it. The absence of doula support really caused us the emotional and mental trauma as we were highly dependent on the doula for this delivery since this was our first baby. In the end she sent us the replacement when my wife had almost delivered the baby. The replacement doula is someone whom we never met or heard about. All the doctors and nurses at fairfax inova hospital were also pissed off by the unprofessional attitude demonstrated. ‘A medical professional is always very nice and supportive no matter what’s the situation is but clearly this was not the case. This is just the delivery story even for prenatal visit there were cancellation at the last hour with excuses like my tire broke and i am sick, just a hour before the scheduled visit. Her contract clearly says that 12 hrs advance notice is retired for making any changes to the prenatal and this part of the contract was not held. Also no postpartum support was provided either. Again this is my horrifying experience and wanted to share this so others can be careful before making any decision
