My heart for women’s health began during my very first OB/GYN appointment as a teenager, when I had to navigate a complicated diagnosis and a series of confusing and often scary interactions with specialists. Years later, after facing complications during the birth of my son, my passion for informed care and patient advocacy only grew stronger. That experience not only taught me the importance of understanding my health and my options, but it also deepened my trust in the Lord. Since then, I’ve become deeply committed to helping women feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their reproductive journeys. My journey led me to work on a research team developing an intrauterine balloon stent to help treat Asherman’s Syndrome—a role that involved shadowing OB/GYNs and midwives and sparked a deeper appreciation for the science behind pregnancy and birth. I truly believe that birth is not only fascinating from a medical standpoint, but also incredibly beautiful and sacred. Today, I feel called to walk alongside women in their most vulnerable and transformative moments—offering education, advocacy, and unwavering support as they step into motherhood.

Hey there! I'm Jenn Carlson, your friendly neighborhood doula! I call Springfield, VA home, where I live with my husband, Eddie—a rock musician who moonlights as a film critic. I spent over two decades as an IT pro and a stage manager before diving headfirst into my most exciting production: raising two amazing daughters.
