Siedah Israel

Hi, I’m Siedah Israel, a Certified Labor Doula, Holistic Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Herbalist based in Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. I’m a wife of 15 years and a homeschooling mother of five. My wellness and birth advocacy journey began with earning a certificate in Massage Therapy from Eastern Virginia Career College in 2018. I later completed my Doula Certification through Germanna Community College in 2024 and graduated with honors in Herbal Studies from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2025. I am currently in Phase I of the PEP process as I work toward becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). I have extensive experience supporting families through hospital births, birth center births, and home births. Personally, I have experienced three hospital births and two home births, which deeply informs the care, perspective, and support I offer to the families I serve. When I’m not supporting families, I enjoy homeschooling, spending time outdoors with my children, writing poetry, working on my werewolf novel, and handcrafting natural hair and skincare products. It is a true honor to walk alongside families with compassion, cultural awareness, and grounded support during such a sacred season of life.

I truly do not know what I would have done without Siedah, and I believe I amucky to have found her for my second birth. As someone who has gone through a traumatic birth experience my first pregnancy, I knew I needed some additional support outside of my husband. But, let's talk about the process even before birth. Months before giving birth, Siedah reminded me and helped me re-process my trauma. Made me really think about how I wanted things to go this time around. To make me confident as well in asking questions about my care and babies care. I feel like that was a huge part in the success of my second birth experience. Fast forward to the actual birth, Siedah asked all the healthcare staff the right questions, or had them re-explain what was going on. I did have to be induced as I had pre-eclampsia. Everything went so smooth, it was exactly how I imagined it. Not to mention how fast it all went too! Siedah has such a big heart, and you can tell she truly cares about you; wants what is best for you too! She treats you like family, and reminds you to choose yourself which can be hard sometimes to remember when you're a mom. You won't regret having her by your side.

She’s worked within the family service profession for nine years, offering traditional yet personalized support. She also dedicates time advising families who need healthcare referrals, sibling assistance, and bereavement support. ⋆。°✩ As a mother who has experienced an unmediated home-birth, Nia fully understands the physical, emotional, and informational support families need, whether they plan to have a physiologic or medicated birth — both choices require the same level of mindfulness and preparation. She believes mothers should prepare for the internal experience of childbirth and postpartum by discovering ways to feel their absolute best, however that may look for them. Nia enjoys helping families prepare for their birth journey by narrowing down on what is most important to them, sharing pain management techniques, preparing for postpartum recovery, and offering tips to support their personhood and autonomy in the hospital environment. In postpartum, she offers hands-on support to ensure parents are well-nourished, comfortable, and rested. Mothers can expect traditional postpartum recovery support such as warming meals, foot baths, and belly binding. Nia was heaven sent for my whole birthing process. She was extremely patient, kind snd accommodating. I am a second time mom with a huge gap so it was like the first time all over again. Nia helped to ease my fears by informing of options I was not aware of and weigh pros snd cons of each. She helped me create s birth plan and was my voice when I was hesitant to speak. Exercises, literature, in home sessions, phone support and postpartum visits…she does it all with grace. She helped me bring my baby boy into the world and for that I will forever be grateful. Thank you Nia❤️

I cannot recommend my doula enough. She was incredibly knowledgeable, calm, and supportive throughout my pregnancy and labor. Her wealth of knowledge gave me the confidence to make informed decisions and advocate for myself every step of the way. There were moments during labor when I truly believe I would have ended up with a C-section if it weren't for her guidance, encouragement, and expertise. She knew exactly how to support me physically and emotionally, and she helped me try different positions and techniques that kept my labor progressing. Beyond her knowledge, she was compassionate, reassuring, and genuinely invested in my well-being. She made me feel seen, heard, and empowered during one of the most important experiences of my life. I am so grateful for everything she did for me and my family. If you're looking for a doula who is experienced, supportive, and truly passionate about helping mothers have the best birth experience possible, I wholeheartedly recommend her.

☀️Hey everyone!☀️ 💗My name is Yasmine. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula who’s also completed a birth/ midwives assistant training. 💌I became doula as my love for birth began as a child. I grew up in a large family and loved watching it grow with more babies. When I had my daughter, I was on Medicaid and wanted someone personal to help guide me through birth and labor. I did not know what a doula was exactly at that time. When I got pregnant with my son, I found myself being a doula for friends and mutual friends of mine virtually(due to Covid). It was not until my doula training that I learned Medicaid covers doulas. I then took the steps to become VA state certified and accept VA Medicaid. 🎯My goal is to provide quality, compassionate, empathetic, evidence based support to women who are more likely to get taken advantage of and neglected. As a woman of color, I know what it is like to feel dismissed and talked down to by the birth team/ healthcare system. I want to help you have the tools and confidence in your informed decisions. From the first time we met we just clicked, She is so easy to talk to! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a Doula. She will also be one of the first people I reach out to if we are ever expecting a baby again!

While photographing my first home birth in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2014, I naturally found myself playing the role of doula between shots. I signed up for official training the next day and never looked back. Soon after doula training, I earned a Certification in Lactation Counseling (CLC) and began helping mothers struggling with feeding issues. I have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of babies in various settings, with varying feeding challenges, and a wide range of feeding goals. Phelicia welcomes families of all dynamics, ethnicities, and backgrounds, supporting births at home, in-hospital, medicated or unmedicated, planned, and unplanned cesareans.

I loved having Phelicia as my doula. She helped me create my birth plan, prep for breastfeeding, pumping, and bottles, and feel at peace about delivery and nursing. Even though I ended up having a cesarean due to breech presentation, she came to the hospital and was ready to help in any and every way in post-op (with care for me, baby's first latch, advice, etc.). She was wonderful at following-up with us regularly, checking in, giving advice, etc., while also giving us space to enjoy being first-time parents. She was a fantastic lactation consultant and helped us navigate our little one's tongue tie with so much wisdom. I highly recommend her for birth and lactation support. If we have another child in the DC area, I will not hesitate to hire her again.

Hi! My name is Asyia Jackson. I am a full spectrum doula in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia supporting mothers as they journey through pregnancy with comfort, love, and strength!

Recent review

I don’t think I can really put into words what Asyia has done for me. I was on the fence about hiring a doula but I know I wanted a better birth experience than what I had with my son 13 years ago. She was the first doula of 9 that I interviewed and my heart/mind kept going back to how comfortable and at peace she made me feel with just our first conversation. I needed not just a guide through physiological birth but also a friend to joke with, lean on, cry to and trust with my life and the life of my baby. Asyia was immediately with me during an emergency 33 week bleed. She continued to check in and answer any and all questions I had about the birth process. When it came time to labor she was like a pillar or strength and wisdom for me to hold onto. When I was afraid, she calmed my fears. When I was joking around, she was laughing with me. When things were intense and my doubt was strong she was speaking from my own inner voice out loud to trust my body, trust my baby and know I WAS doing this. My husband was an active participant and her guidance really helped him step into his confidence as a man helping bring his child into the world. I have walked away from this birth experience with a new found love for myself and for the body I grew up hating. I never felt good enough, strong enough, capable enough. Asyia didn’t just help me give birth in a way I wanted.. she helped guide me through a full spiritual, emotional, physical and mental transformation that has changed me for life. Thank you for believing in me, for walking with me and for helping me to complete my family

I had the honor of being her very first doula client, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, she was there for me every step of the way. She attended classes with me, checked in with me weekly—and sometimes even daily—and helped me create and manage my birth plan so that I felt prepared and confident going into labor. When it was finally time to give birth, she took control in the best way possible. I didn’t have to ask for anything because she already knew what I needed. She knew my birth plan, she knew what I wanted, and she made sure my voice and wishes were supported throughout the entire experience. One of my biggest goals was to have a natural, unmedicated birth. There were definitely moments when I didn’t know if I could keep going, but because she knew how important that goal was to me, she encouraged me, supported me, and stayed right beside me the entire time. I was able to have the birth experience I wanted, and I will forever be grateful to her for that. As a first-time mom, giving birth could have easily been an experience that made me never want to do it again. Instead, because of the care, comfort, patience, and support she gave me, I can actually say I would do it again. 😂 She wasn’t just my doula—she was my advocate, my support system, and such an important part of one of the biggest moments of my life. Being her first client was truly a blessing, and any mother who chooses her as their doula will be in amazing hands. ❤️
