HELLO! My name is Shantella Williams! I am a state certified perinatal health specialist as a birth and postpartum doula. As a child growing up in a in home daycare and watching my parents daycare grow into a center I always knew I wanted to be a COMMUNITY WORKER as well. Working with mothers and their children has become a strong passion of mine. Graduating and receiving my certifications justified my feelings towards the safety and security mothers and their children deserve. Becoming a doula has been a journey. My passion for this field, combined with my respect for mothers and all they endure makes me eager to get on board. With a genuine and nurturing nature combined with a professional and ambitious approach, I possess the primary skills needed in my career. Including being supportive, knowledgeable,caring and having patience. These qualities will contribute to every client while positively highlighting the professionalism and competencies within myself. As a state certified perinatal health specialist I’m working as a birth and postpartum doula. I will be mentally, physically, and emotionally preparing my pregnant mothers and their families for labor and delivery. Coaching and support during pregnancy. Also, I will prepare my mothers for breastfeeding if requested as well during postpartum I will help seek any therapy that may be needed to prevent depression. Shantella was great throughout the process of my pregnancy. She made it much easier physically, mentally and emotionally! We met a little later into my pregnancy but she stepped up & made me comfortable as ever in every way possible! During my labor she was there the whole way, never left my side and she talked & comforted me through the entire delivery 😭 now that we’re home she’s been doing visits, being a BIG help and just making sure my baby and I are okay. She’s been a very important piece to my puzzle and I’m so grateful for her! Thanks Shantella, I’ll definitely be recommending you to everyone I know love !!!

What is a Birth Doula?

My job as a certified prenatal professional Birth Doula is to educate you and assist your family emotionally, educationally and physical before, and during labor. It can be as little as rubbing your back and feeding you ice chips. I’m there to SUPPORT YOU! -For example, I would help you navigate conversations with your doctor, and offer encouragement, advice and comfort.

What is a Postpartum Doula?

As a postpartum doula I will be visiting your home on a schedule you prefer to assist on breast feeding/ lactation, daily task required for your child that maybe hard for you in the beginning as your trying to balance your daily routine once again and, be a supporter as situations can be very stressful during this time. Sleep is very important and you will also need the comfort and peace of mind of resting without waking up every other hour. Postpartum can includes morning or nightly visits for 3 hours minimum-10 hours max for 3 night/mornings maximum a week. -For example, 7pm-5am, or 9am-12pm. For up to 3 months if needed to support mom and baby.

What are Prenatal Visits?

Prenatal visits are visits that usually takes place before labor and delivery. Usually, around the second and third trimester. -During prenatal visits we will get to know one another as I assist you with completing your birth plan/wishes. A birth plan consist of wishes you would like to have happen during labor. Also, I will be teaching mother and support system different techniques and positions to make delivering baby more tolerable.

How much does Shan’tella charge?

Shan’tella's Teen Package for age 19 and under package is $600 USD, flat rate. Shan’tella lists 3 packages in all.
