My name is Kirby Paddock and I’m a birth doula local to Jefferson and Oldham county KY. I love supporting all birth goals, but have a special love for higher risk hospital births. Balancing birth goals and medical interventions can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Along with my doula work, I’m also a certified babywearing consultant and include those services in my birth packages.

I could not have asked for a better person to be my doula and be in my corner during labor. Kirby is so kind, thoughtful, informative and was always looking out for me in the best way. She helped tremendously every step of the way whether it was with pain management, laboring positions, making decisions and advocating for myself. Not only did she help me but she also helped my partner through the whole process as well. Although my birthing experience went sideways, due to complications, I would not have known what to expect if it wasn’t for our prenatal meetups and Kirby informing me of all the possibilities along the way.

Hi everyone! I’m Lauren, a birth, bereavement and postpartum support doula based near Elizabethtown Kentucky as well as a mom of two. I became passionate about Birth about four years ago when I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter. As a first time mom with a medical condition that prevented me from having an epidural, I took a deep dive into all things unmedicated birth. I took the Pain Free Birth course with Karen Welton, I learned breathing exercises, had countless conversations with my husband about my wishes & really did everything I felt that I could to prepare for my birth. I fired my OB at 28 weeks and joined a midwifery practice based out of Charleston South Carolina and went on to have a beautifully unmedicated water birth after a 32 hour long labor. I gave birth to a healthy 8lbs baby girl who I successfully breastfed for almost three years. My passion lies heavily in unmedicated births and breastfeeding but I serve as an advocate for mothers of all kinds and help them to achieve their dream birth and postpartum season. Lauren is amazing and was a true support throughout my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She was informative and went out of her way to find more information for me about things I was unsure about, such as delayed cord clamping and lactation consultants. I felt like Lauren was on my side and didn't judge me for the decisions I made and she definitely wasn't pushing her own idea of what birth or child-rearing should be like. As a person she has a relaxing presence and is fun to spend time with. I felt that our personalities clicked when I met her so it made the decision very easy. Before birth, Lauren assisted my husband and I by going through all of the different labor positions and pain management techniques we were interested in and she even helped us meal prep some things for our freezer! During birth, Lauren was a large advocate for what I wanted, even though I had quite a pushy and possible outdated doctor. This was my second birth experience and it was as close to everything I wanted as possible and I know that was because of Lauren. I could not have wished for a better person or doula to have with us and I am truly thankful that Lauren does what she does.

Hi! My name is Amy and I'm a Birth and Postpartum Doula in Lexington, KY. My work focuses on 3 pillars of support during the birthing year! Education: knowing your options and planning for your ideal birth experience and the unexpected. A great way to avoid a traumatic birth experience is to be really educated about your options before you go into labor! Advocacy: knowing what you want and making sure that is respected and supported. It's your birth and you're in charge! Recovery: postpartum is a gift to reset your health, but this requires rest, nourishment and establishing new routines with your new baby. I will help you make a plan before baby arrives and implement it after you give birth!

I absolutely loved having Amy participate in my birth and postpartum care! She was attentive and made helpful suggestions throughout the time she was with us. The Prenatal discussions allowed me to learn more about my previous birth and things that I wanted to go differently in the upcoming birth. Amy assisted me in research that on things that I wanted more information on and was a wealth of knowledge. She provided books and other resources that I didn't even know were out there. I was planning a homebirth and prior to labor she brought me a kit with different size peanut balls and a TENS unit and that was super helpful during my labor. Amy was very supportive throughout my labor and birth and brought essential oils in inhaler forms. She was also very attentive to my needs by providing sips of water, suggesting position changes, and even started a meal in my crockpot so it would be ready after delivery. During the postpartum period Amy helped with meal preparation, guidance on where to gain additional information on breastfeeding, took care of dishes, laundry, pump parts, helped me learn different baby wraps and how to secure the baby in them. She was also very accommodating with my toddler and indoor animals supervising them in outside play in the yard. I also enjoyed getting to discuss the labor and gain more insight to what happened and she even took pictures of the labor and delivery and sent it to me in google photos. This labor, delivery, and postpartum experience was a much better experience then I previously had and much of that is due to Amy's knowledge, care, and attention. I can't say thank you enough.

Our family had Deb for both my children during the newborn period. She served as a night nurse and worked 5-6 nights a week for serval months postpartum with both my children. She even watched the children over a weekend when we had to go to a wedding in the postpartum period. Deb is am amazing and invaluable resource. She is caring, knowledgeable, and kind. She helped me with pumping and breastfeeding and everything that comes with that (washing pump parts/bottles, storing breastmilk, positioning the baby, tips for when I got mastitis, etc.) She provided me tips and reassurance for everything from a refluxing baby, colicy/cranky baby, sleep training, bath time, bed time, “reading the baby’s cues”, eczema, sickness and more. She immensely cares about the baby, but she also checks in on the mother and making sure your recovery is going smoothly. I highly recommend Deb to anyone and we were lucky to have her in our home.

Hi, I'm Lauren! As a mother of three, I've personally experienced the full spectrum of childbirth - from epidurals to breech C-sections to the empowering journey of natural birth. My own experiences ignited a passion within me to support and empower other mothers on their own unique paths to motherhood. I was privileged to use a doula in all three births and having her transformed our birth experience. I felt supported and listened to, my husband truly appreciated how involved he was in the birth as well.

Halfway through my 3rd pregnancy I knew I wanted to try out the possibility of having a doula. I did not have one with my first baby and I believe having one would have drastically helped. I found Lauren through a friend and immediately called her, she was everything I needed and more. She was calm, understood my preferences and beliefs and we immediately clicked! She was always a phone call/text away through my whole pregnancy when I had questions or needed advice! When I went into labor my husband had to be with my family so she came to my house to support me through labor, she was magical! Although my birth did not end up how I would have ever imagined, she never left my side. She was there praying with me when they told me I would need a c section, she was there for me through the c section and came to visit postpartum in the hospital and at home. She was absolutely incredible and I would recommend her to anyone!

Hello there, I’m Lucy Weidig. I’m a certified birth doula, postpartum doula, and newborn care specialist, devoted to serving women physically, emotionally, and physically throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. I was born and raised in Michigan then relocated to Northern Kentucky in 2017. Besides being a doula, I love to learn about health, read fiction, go hiking, and do anything and everything with my amazing husband. Becoming a doula was never in my plans, but I have a passion for reproduction, babies, and all things women’s health which inspired me to take a doula training with ToLabor, an organization in Richmond, Virginia. Lucy did a fantastic job! She was able to press on some pressure points for me and helped me get through each contraction that way. It made a HUGE difference! She was also there for me in any little thing I needed and didn’t hesitate to meet me where I was at. She suggested different things for me to try and wasn’t too pushy or too laid back. I would 100% recommend her to anyone that is giving birth. Having a doula was so beneficial and Lucy was amazing at doing her work. 🥰

Courtney was my doula for my little boy born Feb 28, 2022. Courtney was absolutely the best decision we have ever made in regards to birth, I am so thankful I got to have her at my birth and I’m so glad she was our doula. What could have seemed like a chaotic and crazy third VBA2C birth was made calm and achievable from Courtney. I am so glad she was there and she was so helpful in countless ways. She was not only a physical support with self sacrificing hip squeezes and cups of warm water down my back, but also and maybe even more importantly a calm and relaxed voice of reason, a shoulder to cry on, an encouragement when I needed it most and truly the only reason I was able to have a VBAC in a hospital setting.
