Over 10 years ago, I answered the call to be with women in the childbearing year. Becoming a doula was my 1st baby step on this most rewarding journey! I advanced through nursing school and gained critical medical knowledge and insight working within the industrial-medical-pharmaceutical-complex, all the while retaining my grounding in the natural power of beautifully supported women. I started attending homebirths as the primary assistant to the midwife in 2014. Between home, hospital, and free-standing birth center settings, I have been honored to attend around 300-400 births as a nurse so far. In my journey, I have worked closely with midwives, learning the art of breastfeeding and participating in passing along this skill from woman to woman, even in the case of serious difficulty. I've coached hundreds of clients from all around the United States on topics ranging from navigating the health care system while pregnant, preventing cesarean section, reducing their risk, and so much more! My saga is only just beginning, and I want to bring as many women and families along this path as I can. Health is freedom. Material knowledge is the currency of our times, but wisdom and intuition are what give knowledge power. I hope to impart my wisdom gained through experience to you, so you can apply this to your life, and do what you know is right in your heart and mind. I want to hold your hand as you take a quantum leap of faith… Faith in yourself, in your body’s design and designer…

I have been serving families as a lactation consultant and nurse (Registered Nurse, Texas Woman's University 1995) for over 20 years and as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for the last 10 years. I love helping families transition into parenthood with a holistic view of breastfeeding as a piece of parenting. My goal is to help families meet their goals for feeding, whatever that may look like, and to bring healing and wholeness into that process. I have advanced training in tethered oral tissues and oral motor function. I help, not only with positioning and latch, but optimal feeding at breast and bottle, including bottle refusal, pumping and flange fitting, and supporting weaning or long term breastfeeding. I am working on becoming certified in cranial sacral therapy and Mindful Breastfeeding. When I am not loving on babies their families, I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, and spending time with my family. My husband and I have two adult sons, one daughter-in-love, and a teenage daughter.

I’ve been an IBCLC, in private practice since 1987. I’m the mother of 10 breastfed children including a set of twins, and 9 grandchildren. I have encountered pretty much every type of Breastfeeding issue there is in my years of practice. I love what I do. I accept most insurance with the exception of Medicaid as the state will not allow us to do so. Visit my website to learn more.

Hey there, my name is Jasmine Johnston and I’m from Cincinnati, OH. I am a Full Spectrum Doula and Wholistic infant feeding and lactation consultant. I am a proud gardener and crocheter. I also enjoy yoga, herbalism, vegan food, and wholistic health. I’m not new to care taking, I Have 10 Nieces and Nephews and I’ll always say my younger sister was my first baby. However, it was through my first born that I was reborn myself. While pregnant, I gained a passion for birthwork and gardening. I began to understand the importance of getting connected with earth’s essence and supporting each seed towards their fullest potential. In gardening, each seed knows exactly what to do when given the right environment to flourish. I believe in that philosophy for birthing people. I aim to support women in their fully informed power and connection to self through the ancestral ways of breastfeeding, birthing, and wholistic wellness.
