Hello! I am a mom of two, full spectrum doula and student midwife in Tacoma, WA. I’ve spent the majority of life supporting people in various and capacities, but found my calling in supporting families through the perinatal period. “It takes a village” is something I grew up on, but also stand and as a mom myself I know that finding that village can be difficult. My goal as your doula is to help bridge that gap and support you during what some consider a very vulnerable and changing journey. My journey into this field began when I was exploring my career options and discovered a passion for nannying. This experience ignited my desire to help families, leading me to expand my knowledge in pregnancy and birth with the guidance of a doula mentor. Currently, I’m working towards my birth doula certification through DONA while continuing to provide nurturing childcare and postpartum care. I believe in fostering a safe and empowering environment for both parents and children, with a focus on kindness, communication, and education. I am a postpartum doula with over 20 years of experience as a certified nurse-midwife in Japan. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to supporting mothers, newborns, fathers, and other family members. I am also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2007, with a strong passion for assisting mothers with breastfeeding. Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology and have worked as a certified public psychologist in Japan, focusing specifically on the prevention of perinatal depression. She understands the importance of patient advocacy and has gained valuable experience from interfacing with providers within the healthcare system. Born and raised in the Seattle Metropolitan Area, Harneet has served various local and international communities through nonprofits and believes helping others is the highest honor. She is now aspiring to continue the privilege of helping others by offering services as a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula with the goal of becoming a Certified Professional Midwife. She is currently working on training as a Fertility Doula to offer pre-conception services to meet the growing needs of the community.
