I am a DONA certified and Medi-Cal approved birth doula and mother of two. I believe birth is a natural physiological process, and a sacred passage: for mother, parents, baby, and family. I understand pregnancy and childbirth to be a deeply transformative time. As a Christian, I celebrate every baby born into the world as a unique and precious gift from God. My passion to become a birth doula grew from witnessing my nephew's birth and then having two boys of my own. Like many women, I was fearful of childbirth due to my limited understanding. Birth was rarely talked about by the women in my life and if it was, pain was typically the main subject. Watching my nephew’s birth showed me that birth can be beautiful. I believe that as women, our bodies were designed by God to birth well. While complications do happen, they are not the rule. Birth is a natural physiological process. It is hard work and can be uncomfortable or painful, but that is not all. Birth is a transformative, life changing experience no matter how it happens: unmedicated or medicated, vaginal or cesarean, home birth, birth center, or hospital.

As a Doula and birth worker, I'm committed to supporting you physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I've given birth to two beautiful babies (who are now grown/and almost grown) and I could not have done it without my doula. I have a Bachelors of Science in Human Environmental Sciences – which equates to commercial interior design - but childbirth is my passion. I have been teaching childbirth classes in The Bradley Method ® in Long Beach, California since 2011. In 2012, I became a certified Doula and have since had the honor of witnessing over 350 births. It is my goal to empower women and their partners, through positive education, to give birth in the most natural way possible. The benefits of a natural birth are countless and the value to the birthing parent, baby, and the family unit, are immeasurable. My path to becoming a doula was forged during a deeply personal experience, as I navigated the challenges of healing my own womb from an ovarian cyst. Faced with the possibility of losing an ovary and the potential inability to have more children, I turned to holistic remedies and the power of herbs. Through this transformative journey, I not only healed myself but also discovered a profound calling to share the knowledge I gained with other women of color who often face similar struggles with womb health. Driven by this newfound purpose, I embarked on a mission to become a holistic fertility doula. As I delved into the realm of fertility, I uncovered not only the prevalence of womb health issues among women of color but also the systemic disparities and injustices they face in their pregnancy and delivery experiences. This revelation ignited a fire within me to advocate for fair treatment and support for all mothers-to-be.

I fell in love with the opportunity to support families during one of the most extraordinary but exhausting times in their lives. Working as a newborn care specialist allows me the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of families. I enjoy supporting new parents during a crucial life stage and find immense fulfillment in positively impacting the well-being of both the baby and the family through specialized care, including feeding, sleep routines, and overall development guidance during the early months of life. I have worked with many infants, including premature infants and twins. I have supported mothers with breastfeeding, from milk storage, supply issues, latching problems, and more. I have also helped families who want to use formulas by providing my knowledge and support with brands and looking out for milk intolerances and digestion issues. I am knowledgeable about colicky infants, tongue ties, reflexes, cradle caps, oxygen machines, and more. I love helping families set up their nurseries to help create a safe sleep environment conducive to fostering healthy sleep habits from night one. I am open to helping families in any way I can, including bottle washing, sanitizing, and keeping the infant areas clean and organized. I am comfortable working with hands-on parents and completely taking over with the infant, doing whatever I can to offer the most support. I have worked with many different families, and I love to be able to come in and uniquely tailor my support to each family, background, beliefs, and lifestyle. My name is Tina Louise and I love supporting families around their birth experience. I'm passionate about birth and working to improve birth outcomes in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I attended my first birth at the age of 16 years in a homebirth community and knew this was a calling for me. I attended home births, birth centers and hospital births, and finally decided to become certified as a Doula in 2014. I have volunteered with Joy in Birthing Foundation, worked as a private doula under Doula Sisters LA and began with SBCC a as a Community-based Doula in 2018. I am experienced in all forms of doula support, Lactation, Childbirth Education, Spinning Babies, Placenta Encapsulation, Infant Massage and a Reiki II practitioner. I'm Brazilian, and I'm a mom of two girls. My cultural Background and my daughter's birth experiences are deeply connected to my decision to become a doula. Growing up, I used to listen to my mother's birth stories, which helped me see childbirth as a grand and beautiful event. For me, the idea of giving birth was always sacred - but it was through the births of my two daughters that I truly understood what it means to give birth. After my second birth, I knew I wanted to become the kind of support person who had been essential to me during my own experience. In 2021 I began walking the path to become a Doula.

Yose is a Holistic Birth and Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, and Birthrights advocate in Orange County, California. Her passion for Birth Work began in 2020 when she got pregnant with her daughter Kailani. During pregnancy she prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually for labor, but did not prepare for the postpartum period. With no family or support around made her 4th trimester a very difficult time for her and her partner. Yose completed her Birth Worker training with Bebo Mia Inc when her daughter was only 3 months old. After the training she realized that she wanted to take a more ancestral approach in birth work, and began learning about Mexican Birth and Postpartum Traditions. She Is constantly growing and learning! As your Doula Yose will walk with you through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
