About me

Alisa is a Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant and Educator who has a passion for helping mothers accomplish the goal of providing human milk to their babies in whatever way works for them. She believes in getting to know families and their unique challenges to new parenthood, and is working to build bridges among community resources for new and growing families. As a Registered Nurse, she has been working with mothers, babies and families, and training other nurses for over 30 years in both the hospital and community setting. She is committed to incorporating evidence based lactations care to her practice.

Service introduction

Momentum Lactation was founded in 2017 with the goal of providing greater access to breastfeeding support in the Edwardsville and St. Louis Metro Area. Alisa worked in the community in a hospital setting for many years and realized that many mothers needed more support and information after they leave the hospital to be successful on their breastfeeding journey. With decades of experience supporting and educating new mothers through various modalities, and an expert in clinical lactation, she founded Momentum Lactation to include needed access and support missing in the hospital and community. Families can now receive office, home or virtual visits in the early days at home, as well as a community of other moms in our monthly Breastfeeding Mom’s Meet Ups. Common types of issues addressed include, low milk supply, painful latch, baby weight loss, pediatrician concerns related to feeding or growth, getting a back to work plan and just managing the breastfeeding routine and lifestyle. Most clinical consults are covered by insurance. We look forward to serving you to help you meet your breastfeeding goals along your personal journey.
