About me

I have lived in Florida all my life. My happy place is by the ocean listening to the waves. I have been married to my college sweetheart for 12 years. We have 3 beautiful, wild boys ages 9, 7 and 4. I became fascinated by the magic and mechanics of birth during my first pregnancy in 2013. I had an emergency c-section followed by medicated and unmedicated vaginal births in 2016 and 2019. For all three, I had the same doula by my side sharing her 30+ years of wisdom. In 2023, I formalized my training and have been focusing on doula work full-time. I’m currently accepting birth and postpartum clients through all months of 2024 at a significant savings while building up on my existing base of foundational labor and postpartum experience. I’m also presently employed as a birth coach and postpartum doula for a local private practice. Aside from parenting my sons, it is my biggest privilege and joy to serve mothers in this vulnerable time, and I look forward to knowing and serving you during your journey. I strongly believe it is the right of the birthing person to choose whatever path is right for them. Every body, baby and pregnancy is different. If you choose me to be by your side, my promise is to help you and your partner bring that vision to life. Knowing birth can be unpredictable, I will do everything I can to ensure you feel safe, loved, empowered and strong every step of the way. I would love to talk with you about your wishes for your birth. Get in touch with me today to set up a free consultation.

Bringing Amanda to our team as our Doula was by far, miles and miles away the best decision we made trough our journey. She has so much to teach and Knowledge. It's almost like when you go to a park or zoo and the guide shares with you every detail, information, fun facts and risks along the way, possibilities and the best way to go all the way to the end. As first time parents, having Amanda to answer our questions and concerns and give us reassurance was extremely important and helpful to us. And the deliver day came, she was ready, and came through right away! We couldn't be happier and thank her enough!

It’s hard for me to put into words just how amazing it was having Amanda by my side for one of the hardest and most beautiful time in my life. From the moment I decided to move forward with Amanda and Nueva Vida I was fully supported, it felt like having a light guiding my steps. When the time suddenly came for me to give birth Amanda was there in lightning speed and remained for what was a VERY long birth. She not only supported me but my husband as well, we were truly a team. When things became difficult and I began to feel defeated Amanda did not let me stay in the mindset for even a millisecond. She gently but firmly reminded me of my strength and goals for birth. She helped me to make my birthing experience a beautiful magical time. If you are looking for guidance, support, love, and magic look nowhere else.

Amanda is an unbelievably compassionate and calming force. I was fortunate to have her support me through the birth of my second son. She validated every complex emotion I had. And she empowered me to trust myself and trust in the process. Having my children was the most powerful expression of my experience as a female. And I couldn't imagine doing it again without Amanda by my side. She was equally helpful to my husband, ensuring that he cared for himself while they both helped care for me. In addition to her reliable and nurturing nature, another bonus is that she seems well-versed in mental health, as she was able to help me face my doubts and fears. Amanda's expertise resulted in a happy, healthy, successful birth. But her care did not end there. Post-partum, I had an intense and persistent headache, worse than any I'd ever experienced. Amanda researched the condition and put me on a strict regimen of aggressive hydration and caffeine intake. And made sure I was still able to safely nurse during this time. The regimen helped me avoid the more invasive treatment of an epidural blood patch. Within a few days, I was back to normal and able to fully enjoy and engage with my new bundle of joy! You could not ask for a better birth professional in your corner.

Amanda is my postpartum support doula, however, if I could do it again I would have her at my daughter’s birth as well. Her knowledge and nurturing demeanor have helped myself and my family in so many ways. After my daughter wasn’t gaining weight she coached me on breastfeeding and now my LO is thriving. She showed me different nursing positions as well as helped my husband with bottle feeding. Now that my daughter has longer wake periods Amanda helps with developmental activities and resources to help me make the most of our time together without over stimulating her. She has not just assisted with my LO but has provided me the tools to move forward as a confident knowledgeable mother myself. My suggestion to anyone thinking about hiring Amanda Saxon would be to hire her for literally everything she offers before, during, and after your birth.

The Birth Day of my baby boy will be forever cherished in my memory as a cheerful, beautiful day filled with presence and trust. In the weeks prior to Nolan’s birth, Amanda was a grounding presence that willfully provided evidence based resources to guide my decision making. She gave me much peace of mind in a moment where anxiousness can easily take over. The “prep” for labor was such a crucial part for me to set my state of mind for the big day. As per usual, little happened as I expected, but I was resilient and excited to get to know my unique birth story. Amanda met my husband and me at the hospital in the middle of the night, shared her experience and gave room for my own. She spoke to me about my options at each step of the way as my labor progressed, and gave me so much support playing hypnobirthing tracks and with manual treatment during contractions. My husband was so thankful to have her presence as well, he even got to rest for a bit. I can’t forget to mention the beautiful pictures and videos she captured of that special moment. They were priceless! ❤️ Thank you Amanda!

My Boyfriend and I decided to use Amanda as our Doula for our first baby and we couldn’t be more thankful that we did. Before labor she was super knowledgeable with every question or concern we had and was quick to respond, she would continue to check on me throughout my pregnancy and would answer and send me medical information which helped me feel more and more secure with our choice of choosing her.her knowledge and helpfulness only grew throughout this process. She went above and beyond to make sure she and my boyfriend knew the ins and outs of my birth plan and made sure that it was followed to the best of our ability as well as making me prepared for changes that could come and how to respond to them and helping me feel secure in the changes we couldn’t control. My labor was about 48 hours and she went above and beyond to try and help me keep in the right head space while helping us get the baby in the right position to make sure that I was able to have our baby vaginally. She continued to be supportive to my boyfriend and I even with us all not getting any sleep for practically all of my labor. She was unbelievably patient and stay in a positive mindset throughout, even when I was unable to do so. She documented my entire labor experience from the time I told her that I thought I was starting contractions all the way till I had our baby and I couldn’t be more thankful to have all of it documented the way she did on top of taking pictures beginning when we got to the hospital, for which I couldn’t thank her enough for those precious memories that I get to share with our son. If we could go back we would choose Amanda to be our Doula all over again and in the future if we decide to have another baby we know we will be choosing her again because of our experience and knowing we wouldn’t want to do this without her. Her impact on our family will never be forgotten.

Amanda was there for the birth of my daughter and I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without her. My daughter came a little earlier than expected while my husband was still traveling for work. I called Amanda in the middle of the night with contractions coming very quickly already. She jumped into action and got to house as fast as possible. When she got there she coached me through a very intense, very fast labor, and called 911 to get me to the hospital. I ended up delivering in the back of the ambulance with Amanda by my side, helping me (and the EMTs) through the whole delivery. She was calm when I wasn’t. She knew what to do when the EMTs (who were wonderful, but didn’t have a lot of experience with l&d) didn’t. She stayed with me in the hospital and celebrated with me when I didn’t have my spouse with me. I can’t say enough good things. If you’re on the fence about hiring a doula, I can tell you, you won’t regret having Amanda there to support you.
