I’m wanting to do an unmedicated home birth. My budget is 1k and i’d like to make a payment plan or be able to pay after birth. My birth plan is an unmedicated home birth in a birthing pool with my support people and only a midwife or doula. I want it to be calm, peaceful and my way. If anything goes wrong, I want immediate transfer to an emergency room.

I plan on giving birth at Mission Hospital in Asheville. I’m hoping to have someone to help advocate for my needs and coach my birthing process. I had an accident and fell last Thursday and was in the hospital being monitored during hurricane Helene. I was there alone for 3 days with no power and water and so afraid. My husband couldn’t get to me due to road closures and it was really lonely and scary. I am hoping to find someone who can be there with me and my husband and who can help me with the process. I’m planning on getting an epidural but hope to deliver her vaginally. I’m 37 years old and considered a high risk pregnancy. So far everything has been good health wise. I am looking for someone who has a balanced perspective as far as medical interventions vs more natural options. I am hoping they will give me the educated pros and cons on certain decisions with minimal bias. I am looking for someone who can be very hands-on during labor. I am considering a water birth so would love someone who has had plenty of experience with that. Even though my previous birth was in a hospital, I wouldn’t mind trying a birthing center this time. I am looking at around a $1,000 budget including a pre/postnatal massage if possible. I am also hoping the doula would be willing to take simple videos or pictures (even just on a phone) during the delivery. I am hoping to find someone who doesn’t mind me texting them with any questions leading up to the birth. I want to release any trauma from my previous birthing experience. I want to find someone who understands the body very well.

Prisma Heath-Patewood in Greenville for birth. Would like to have a postpartum doula to help with baby and house chores. Don’t have a complete birth plan yet but I am working on it. I do know I want low lights, be able to move around as much as possible, delayed cord, delayed bath, positive energy, calming music. Not sure on pain management completely. At the moment planning to move as much as possible with IV and Nitrous and then switch to an epidural later on. Also want to labor at home as long as I can handle the pain. Possibly use bath/shower to help with pain.

First, I’d like to try and labor home as long as possible.Second, as soon as I get to the hospital no medicine unless necessary and the epidural at 5-6 cm.And I want a quiet, dim light and when time to push I want to try positions other than laying on my back that are possible to do with an epidural.No episiotomy unless necessary and delayed cord clamping with skin to skin.

I will be giving birth at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. I only have, at most, $1,000 for a doula. I will need assistance specifically for labor and the first few weeks after having the baby. Requests/Requirements No Induction → No use of Pitocin or Cytotec • Fetal/monitoring → Intermittent, external, only if baby is in distress • Delivery Positions → Side, hands and knees, lean on partner, birthing stool, squat, whatever feels comfortable to me but not laying on my back • Episiotomy → Only after perineal massage, warm compress and positioning, as a last resort, use of local anesthesia when performed and repaired • Delivery → Push spontaneously, without time limits as long as mom and baby are ok, no forceps, no vacuum extraction, husband to catch the baby • Clothing → Wear my own gown before/after delivery - switch in to own PI's when ready Immediately after delivery • Golden Hour → Immediate placement of baby on moms chest. No measurements or anything for first hour. • Delayed Cord clamping → Umbilical cord to be cut after it stops pulsing and goes white (delayed cord clamping) • Cutting umbilical cord → My husband to cut the umbilical cord Labor augmentation ONLY if baby is in distress. First attempted with natural methods such as nipple stimulation. Never to include artificial rupture of the membranes Do Not • Offer Pitocin No urinary catheter No IV unless dehydrated → No heprine or saline lock Post Delivery Extra strength acetaminophen - no narcotics Stool softener Pitocin ok for mom after umbilical cord has been cut to stop hemorrhaging if need be Baby NO VACCINES: HEP B, NO EYE OINTMENT Medical exam/s done in presence of patient or spouse - after golden hour Baby to stay in room at all times - if taken out of room husband to accompany at all times No formula feeding.

I plan to give birth in a hospital, but I want to go unmedicated. I want the least interventions possible. I want someone who can coach me and help me through the birth process and educate me on the birthing process. I plan on having my husband for the most support, but I would love the experience and education of a doula at my side and also the physical and mental assistance they provide. Estimated budget is no more than $500. I’m really not sure what doulas costs are so that’s subject to change.
