I have a 2 year old girl and I am currently pregnant. Following the birth of my first child, I required a lot of support from my father, who passed away this year. We have friends and family able to provide occasional support, but my husband and I are worried that we may need extra support following the birth of our second child. If the birth goes smoothly, we anticipate needing someone to help make meals for me, light cleaning, and being another set of eyes on our toddler. Sleep is the biggest concern, so a night nanny might be something we need, or at least want to have at the ready. I am planning on giving birth at Almonte Hospital. I live in Carleton Place. I plan on having a natural delivery (not a planned c-section). My last birth was fairly smooth (laughing gas for pain, episiotomy and vacuum delivery, home from hospital after 2 night stay), so I am hoping for a similar experience. Our budget is quite flexible, we know we will need the help, we estimated maybe up to $100 a day or $300 a week? It's hard to guess how much help we will need, but want to be ready for worst case scenario.

We’re looking for birth and possibly postpartum support for a hospital birth for our first child. Ideally, we are looking to utilize our insurance to assist with cost coverage. Hi there, my name is Jenny- may I am a single mama to soon to be 5 children. I’m currently 17 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my 5th baby and moving to the Cobourg area. I have been having the hardest time finding a midwife that has availability to assist me with my planned home birth ( waitlisted everywhere) or not in the catchment. I have spoke with some other doulas and friends and have decided that I’m open to an unassisted home birth if necessary. It had come to my attention that there is a term called Traditional Birth Assistants who are not medical professionals but perhaps have more experience with the birth process. It is my understanding that these Birth assistants are typically found by word of mouth. I was wondering if you had any knowledge of anyone practicing this in the Cobourg or surrounding areas?
I fled an abusive relationship in Alberta to come here with my 22 month old. I mostly just dont want to be alone in the hospital. My dad will have my son that is all I here. I was able to have a doula for my first pregnancy and had a lovely experience!
I plan on giving birth at Adirondak Health in Saranac Lake NY. I live in Plattsburgh NY. I’d like to have insurance cover this but was unsure how to do that. I’m looking for a postpartum doula and not a birth doula. I’m hoping to find someone that can help with my toddler while also supporting me and my newborn. My husband can only get a few days off because he started a new job so he has no PTO.
