We need help understanding our rights on what we can give consent to versus what is legally required for hospital staff to do to our baby. (Shot, vaccines, bloodwork, etc.) We dont want to be bullied into decisions, so we need help navigating recommendations during our hospital stay. I am planning to give birth at UAB St. Vincent's! I am trying to pay as little as possible after insurance, but I am flexible. I had a C-section for my first pregnancy, and I would like to have a VBAC if possible, but I am open to whatever is safest for baby and me. I do not have specific requirements for the provider, but I want this person to be able to assist me in advocating for myself, as well as assist me in breastfeeding. I currently have 1 14-month-old son, and am approximately 4 weeks pregnant with our second. I was only able to breastfeed him for approximately three months, and I am hoping for this to be different this time around. I could use assistance with cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc after the baby is born. My husband will be on paternity leave, but he is a full-time student; he does help me as much as he can. i plan on giving birth at the hospital. my estimated budget is 300 i have medicaid so i do not know if it covers for that. i do not want to give birth laying down in water or squatting is preferred. i want to do delayed cord cutting until the cord runs white and i only want two people in the room with me during birth which is my mom and boyfriend (& whoever is helping me)
