“In birth, we find the courage we never knew we had and the strength that was there all along.” – Marcie Macari Hi, my name is Bria Comer. I am a birth doula, as well as a dance teacher, licensed physical therapist assistant, and a mama to my son, daughter, and dog! I am so excited that you are considering the idea of a doula. I believe that everyone deserves the support and knowledge of a birth doula to help make childbirth the beautiful journey it should be. My background in dance and physical therapy, in combination with my doula training, gives me valuable insight into the physiology of the perinatal time frame to help you embrace the power within your body. I have seen firsthand how positioning, massage techniques, intentional movement, and breath work help birthing individuals. My goal as your doula is first and foremost to support you with your needs and desires, whatever decisions you make. I am also interested in helping you learn about normal physiology and movement practices during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum to help empower and educate you. This will help you be in tune with your body and its needs as well, so you can continue to find strength and balance beyond our time together! I also use my knowledge and experience from over 6 years of working in pediatric physical therapy to help educate and guide you on normal infant development, if you are interested. LGBT+ friendly 💜

I can't wait to get to know your baby's story! After our consultation call, once you sign the contract you will get resources including prenatal movement strategies to help keep pregnancy pain-free and optimize baby's position. You will also receive education on typical timeline and events during pregnancy, stages of labor and how to help it progress, and text support for everything you are experiencing. We have 2 in-person prenatal visits; I am on-call for you 24/7 starting at 38 weeks (in the event of an early induction, we will plan accordingly!); the birth event of course; then 2 more postpartum visits to check in, decompress, review newborn care and typical development, and help with lactation if needed/desired.
