About me

Hi! I'm Brittney. I'm a Pennsylvania native currently living in Philadelphia, with my very talkative Bengal cat named Arlo. I've been passionate about women's health my entire life, and have been amazed by the human body's ability to bring new life into the world from a very young age. I have a background in Biology and Health Science, and have worked within the pharmaceutical industry for almost 5 years now. This career path has led me places that have truly opened my eyes to the way that birth has been medicalized and even depersonalized over the years. Whatever you want your birth to look like - it's my goal to provide you with the support you need to make it happen. Whether you envision a homebirth, a hospital birth, medicated vs unmediated, or if those plans change, my main goal is to make you aware of the choices you have & remind you what your body is capable of. Over the past few years, the world has seen more-so than ever the growing need for change when it comes to equality & equity, activism & advocacy in all spaces. Learning of the exponentially higher BIPOC maternal & infant mortality rate was shocking to me. There are too many stories of neglect & unnecessary trauma. I am fully dedicated to making sure I help to provide a safe space for all birthing people throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Bring Your Own Birth was created with this idea in mind: your birth, your way, whatever that looks like - bring it!

Service introduction

I offer full-spectrum, virtual and in-person, doula services (birth, postpartum, and reproductive health). You are more than welcome to personalize and customize the type of support that you need, including the number of prenatal meetings, number of postpartum home visits, and my involvement in your labor and birth. My first 3 birth and postpartum clients will receive special discounted pricing! Please let me know if you have any special requirements or questions about services.
