About me

Postpartum, a phrase & life phase I never truly understood until I was in the thick of it myself. This discovery lead me to delve deep into learning all I could about what it is to be a newborn mother and the incredible journey all new parents go through; and for mothers this journey is called matrescence; a huge hormonal shift similar if not bigger than the transition to adolescence. From this, Matrescence by Design was born. A passion to ensure all parents (new and old) are never left to feel alone, belittled, lost or flailing. A desire to empower parents and guide them back to their instinct, allowing them to learn by doing and supporting them through the early days of postpartum.

Service introduction

As a postpartum doula, I offer a range of services focussing on mother care & nurture. Providing modern care, within your home we look to fill your cup so you can take on whatever the days & nights throw your way.

Packages
Five times the love
Five separate in home sessions lasting 3 hours each designed to allow you to fully connect to your postpartum and entry into the fourth trimester. Sessions include anything from a general home tidy up, life administration, sibling care, hair treatment + blow dry, comfort touch massage, meal preparation, belly binding and nourishing conversation to help you feel connected and rested. These sessions are best received within the first 12 weeks of your babies life earth-side however I truly see postpartum as forever, so there is no age limit to these sessions. All packs of five include a complimentary pre/postpartum planning session and a mama focused bag designed to compliment your postpartum experience. As with “Got your back” sessions, each visit will include a lovely Golden Month specialty beverage and a copy of our postpartum planner.

Postpartum planning
This 60 minute session looks to assist you in planning your postpartum (before or when the babe has arrived). Using the Matrescence by Design postpartum planner we go through everything that is on your mind from who will visit, what to prepare prior and how to manage sleep deprivation and pain management. These sessions are designed to empower you and set you up for a clear idea of what postpartum looks like for your family. Specifically designed for the primary parents, however this session is also open to people who will be within your immediate circle… allowing everyone to have an understanding on boundaries, roles and what to expect in the fourth trimester.

Got your back
A single in home session lasting 3 hours, designed to assist and or pamper you. You will choose from a range of options such as general house tidy, meal preparation, belly binding, sibling care, hair treatment + blow dry, life administration, comfort touch massage or simply a chat to connect and de brief. All sessions will be received within your home and come with a complimentary gift (think love language specific) and a delicious mama milk care of the Golden Month.
