Hi, my name is Alaila. I've been working as a doula for about 1 year now. I have 8 years of experience working in childcare as an early childhood education teacher. I have 3 children of my own, 1 boy and 2 girls. I became a doula because, I myself have preterm labor so I know the struggle to be heard during such an emotionally and physically difficult time as labor. I wanted to become a voice for anyone who is experiencing this struggle, to lift up their voice in the birthing room. I am currently enrolled and taking classes at Henry Ford to become a Medical Assistant. I plan to specialize as a Radiographer so that I can be even more helpful to the mothers I serve in the community and clinic settings.

I love everything about newborns and being able to share my knowledge with families is another part of my job that I love. I try to create a calm and supportive judgement-free zone when working with families to be able to ask any and all questions. I have always had a passion for babies and helping people.
