Holistic nutritional full circle doula, Lorenda provides educational, emotional, and physical support to moms and their support team through their journey of parenthood. She received her certificate as community-based doula at Black Mothers Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA) in 2018 and trained as a full circle doula with Shafia Monroe Consulting, 2022. In January 2023, Lorenda became a Medicaid Provider as a doula, and trains other doulas to become Medicaid providers for the state of Michigan. As a leader, Lorenda serves on the Doula Advisory Council with the State of Michigan and is the president at Motor City Doula Association where she leads monthly meet ups with other doulas in the community.

Hi, my name is Alaila. I've been working as a doula for about 1 year now. I have 8 years of experience working in childcare as an early childhood education teacher. I have 3 children of my own, 1 boy and 2 girls. I became a doula because, I myself have preterm labor so I know the struggle to be heard during such an emotionally and physically difficult time as labor. I wanted to become a voice for anyone who is experiencing this struggle, to lift up their voice in the birthing room. I am currently enrolled and taking classes at Henry Ford to become a Medical Assistant. With an innate passion for babies and their families, Danielle has an insightful and peaceful presence as a postpartum doula.
