Hi! I wanted to share a little about the support I’m hoping for during labor. I’d really like to try for an unmedicated birth if possible, so having help with breathing, positioning, and counter pressure during contractions would mean a lot. My priorities are being able to move freely, delivering in the position I choose, delayed cord clamping, and keeping interventions minimal if everything is safe. I’d also love a calm, dark, peaceful environment. My pregnancy has IUGR, so there’s a chance I may need to deliver earlier than expected. I’m hoping for someone who can support me emotionally, help advocate for me if needed, and also guide my partner on how he can best support me during labor. I am looking for a postpartum doula to help me manage my newborn baby's needs. I don't have family in the area and my husband has returned to work and it's challenging for me to keep up with the household and support feeding baby (breastfeeding with supplementation and pumping) regularly because after 2 weeks my baby has not yet gotten back to his birth weight. Help with cooking would also be great. If the doula is covered in-network by my insurance (BCBS PPO) that would be helpful.
