Service introduction

Alayla Birth is a unique practice that was born over 5-years-ago because I believe in you. I believe in the magic of the birthing body, and its ability to rise to the occasion during such an amazing, beautifully chaotic, whirlwind of a time in your life. I believe in the process that bringing a tiny human earth-side entails, and I passionately provide you with the empowering, judgement-free support you deserve. Your body stands among the generations of birthers that have come before it. We lend a supportive hand using tried-and-true tools & traditional wisdom—like pelvic steaming, Bengkung belly-binding, and placenta encapsulation—so your journey can be a healing one. You are your baby’s first home. Honor that magic with our selection of casts, prints, and keepsakes to remind you how amazing you are.

Packages
Birth Doula Support
Weekly Prenatal Visits: Questions? Concerns? A little hands-on support preparing for birth? Weekly prenatal visits are included in your birth support package, and is a great way to build trust and rapport before your upcoming delivery. While a variety of topics and activities may arise (i.e. childbirth overview, birth plan, labor prep activities, and practicing coping skills), our prenatal visits will be catered to you and your family’s specific needs. Prenatal visits will last approximately 1-hour, and occur on a weekly basis starting around 34- to 35-weeks gestation until birth. Unlimited Support: I am available via phone, text, and email to provide you with emotional and information support regarding anything birth-related that may arise. On-Call Period: I go “on-call” for you starting 2-weeks prior to your estimated due date (EDD). During this time, I am prepared to provide you with continuous, in-person labor support at a moment’s notice, and you may access me 24/7 via phone and text. Once I have joined you, I remain by your side until after baby is born, and provide you with immediate golden-hour and lactation support. Postpartum Visit: Lasting approximately 2-hours, our postpartum visit occurs in-home after you have returned from the hospital or birth center (or you have had a few days to settle-in after your home birth). The goal of this visit is to help you process the birth experience and provide you with any additional assistance or resources you may need to get your early postpartum period off to a good start. Holistic & Complimentary Practices: Your body knows exactly what it needs to do to bring your baby earth-side. I believe that holistic and complimentary practices are an empowering way to support your body’s natural process. Whether it’s with Spinning Babies®, HypnoBirthing®, nutritional support, reiki, or perineal (vaginal) steaming—we can incorporate such practices into our visits. Additional fees may apply. Complimentary [M]otherboard Membership: [M]otherboard is an online and mobile app that puts evidence-based research at your fingertips and allows us to easily collaborate as you build your birth plan. As a [M]otherboard Partner, I am able to provide you with a 10% discount off your 1-year access. Bundle & Save: In my experience, optimal satisfaction and healing comes from an holistic approach. That’s why you’ll receive special discounts when you book multiple services.

Postpartum Support Package
Prenatal Visit(s): Questions? Concerns? A little hands-on support getting things ready for baby? One complimentary prenatal visit is included in your postpartum support package, and is a great way to jumpstart our journey together. While a variety of topics and activities may arise (i.e. expected postpartum needs, postpartum recovery prep, lactation basics, newborn care, and baby gear), our prenatal visit(s) will be catered to you and your family’s specific needs. The visit will last approximately 2-hours. Additional prenatal visits are welcomed, but will be charged at my standard hourly rate. Unlimited Support: I am available via phone, text, and email to provide you with emotional and information support regarding anything postpartum-related that may arise. Postpartum Support Minimums: With daytime shifts lasting a minimum of 6-hours, postpartum shifts allow me to provide in-person emotional support, hands-on assistance, or even general guidance during the first 3-months with baby. A minimum of 3 shifts per week is also required because—very much like Mary Poppins—I fly off into the wind once you get to a point where you don’t need me anymore. Don’t worry, that means I did my job right! Traditional Healing Practices: Your body’s job is to take care of you. I believe that time-honored, alternative practices are a soothing way to support your body’s natural healing process. Whether it’s Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cooking, abdominal massage & Bengkung bellybinding, reiki, or perineal (vaginal) steaming—we can find time to incorporate such practices into our shifts together. Additional fees may apply. Bundle & Save: In my experience, optimal satisfaction and healing comes from an holistic approach. That’s why you’ll receive special discounts when you book multiple services.

Postpartum Pelvic Steaming Package
Pelvic steaming—more commonly know as vaginal or yoni steaming—is an old and universal healing modality that has been used world-wide as a way to promote reproductive health. Infused with precisely chosen herbs, postpartum steaming helps to fully clear the uterus of afterbirth and heal/rejuvenate/fortify the tissues of your pelvic bowl to bring them back to their pre-pregnancy state (or as close to it as possible). It also soothes a raw nervous system and supports blood circulation and detox to quickly treat postpartum edema. Pelvic steaming can be used across all stages of life and is an amazing way to regain autonomy over your gynecological health. The Postpartum Pelvic Steaming Package includes: 30-day equipment rental ($120 value) 30-day supply of custom herbal blended sachets ($70 value) Our “Postpartum & Maintenance Steaming Guide” digital PDF ($20 value) Daily mini check-ins by phone (text or call) Four, weekly check-in sessions to be conducted in-person* or virtually (up to $260 value) Initial set-up and steaming session ($125 value) With a total value of up to $595, we encourage you to enjoy the benefits of our Postpartum Package for $460. That’s a savings of $135. *In-person sessions are conducted in the comfort of your own home and session set-up is provided by me.
