About the provider
Hello my name is Melanie Powell and I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula and a Childbirth Educator in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex I first felt drawn to this work in my childhood many years before I even knew what a doula was or anything about postpartum or the transition to parenthood. As I transitioned through life I developed a passion for children watching them grew and learn and working with parents helping them handle challenges of raising children. I have a bachelors in Early Childhood education from Texas Woman's University and 25 years of experience working in the field. When I'm not working or spending time with my daughter I enjoy volunteering at my church, cooking, baking, and crafting which I hope to incorporate into my doula practice
