About the class

Is Your Birth Room Ready for You? You are not just a patient; you are the lead decision-maker of your birth team. Join Melanie Powell, Christ-centered/trauma-informed doula, for a transformative, free introductory class designed to help you reclaim your birth experience. Many parents approach birth as a clinical medical event—but we believe it is something much more profound. It is a physiological design meant to be honored and protected. In this session, we strip away the fear and replace it with the confidence that comes from understanding your body’s unique design. What You’ll Discover: This class introduces you to the Little Flower Framework, our three-pillar approach to a peaceful, empowered birth: Advocacy (The Birth Hero): Learn how to transform your partner from a bystander into a fierce protector and advocate for your informed consent. Sanctuary (Boundaries): Discover the art of building a "Baby Bubble," setting firm hospital boundaries, and protecting your peace during your most vulnerable, beautiful moments. Autonomy (Trauma-Informed): Birth shouldn't feel like a series of things happening to you. We teach you how to honor your intuition, identify triggers, and maintain control so you feel like "Mom"—not a patient being managed. Why Little Flower? At Little Flower Birth Services, our mission is to provide Christ-centered doula support and childbirth education that transforms anxieties into strengths. We combine evidence-based research with radical compassion, ensuring you walk into your birth room feeling strong, informed, and fully supported. Event Highlights: Expert Guidance: Led by Melanie Powell, a doula dedicated to servant-hearted stewardship. Practical Tools: Get actionable advice you can use immediately to prepare your mind and your birth team. Community: Connect with other families who value informed, autonomous birth experiences.

Melanie Powell

If you are reading this while pregnant, you might already feel the weight of the "what-ifs." While you prepare for birth, you may also be quietly wondering: What happens when the visitors leave? What if I don't know why the baby is crying? Who will take care of me while I’m taking care of everyone else? At Little Flower Birth Services, I specialize in supporting mothers who carry these worries. The "Fourth Trimester" doesn’t have to be a season of drowning in uncertainty. It can be a time of gentle healing, where your intuition is nurtured and your anxiety is met with steady, calm competence. How I Quiet the Noise for You: A Gentle Landing for Your Birth Story: Anxiety often stems from unprocessed experiences. We will sit together to walk through your birth journey, honoring every emotion so you can move forward into motherhood with a clear, peaceful heart. Confidence in the "New": When your mind starts to race with questions about newborn cues, sleep, or feeding, I am there to provide evidence-based answers and hands-on guidance. We replace "Google-induced panic" with calm, practical tools. Protecting Your Peace & Recovery: You cannot pour from an empty cup. I step into the gaps—managing light household tasks, organizing your recovery space, and ensuring you are nourished—so your only "job" is to rest and bond. Emotional Safeguarding: I am trained to recognize the difference between the "baby blues" and postpartum anxiety or depression. I provide a non-judgmental safety net, helping you navigate your moods with compassion and connecting you to further resources if the path gets steep. Validation of Your Mother-Intuition: Anxious mothers often doubt themselves. My goal is to mirror back your strengths to you, affirming that you are exactly the mother your baby needs. You Don’t Have to Carry the Weight Alone Postpartum is a vulnerable threshold, but you don’t have to cross it in fear. I am here to be the steady presence that allows you to exhale. From emotional reassurance to practical "in-the-trenches" help, my support is designed to ensure you feel seen, safe, and deeply cared for as you find your rhythm.
