Jane Austin’s signature Mama Tree Prenatal Yoga Teacher Trainings offers a comprehensive study in the art and science of teaching yoga for mamas and pregnant folks at all stages of pregnancy, birth and beyond. This 45-hour comprehensive prenatal yoga teacher training is for yoga teachers, midwives, doulas and other health professionals who are interested in teaching yoga to expecting parents. All participants must have completed a 200-hour basic teacher training or at least three years of yoga practice. All participants must have a working knowledge of basic alignment principles. You will learn how to teach yoga to expecting parents in all stages of pregnancy and throughout the early stages of postpartum. We will explore yoga as a tool in preparation for not only childbirth, but for being a parent! Mama Tree is a certified Yoga Alliance prenatal yoga school. All participants will receive a copy of Prenatal Yoga with Jane Austin video (digital streaming access) as well as a training manual. As part of this course, students will be able to drop into and observe any of Jane’s Prenatal + Postnatal & Baby Yoga classes from October – December and ask Jane questions after the class. A certificate of completion will be awarded upon completion of the 45-hour training, successful completion of take home exam and book report. This training qualifies as continuing education if you are registered with Yoga Alliance OR hours can be applied to registered prenatal yoga teacher designation (RPYT) with Yoga Alliance. NOTE : NEW FORMAT FOR FALL 2022!!! We will meet four times over the course of three months beginning in October and ending in December of 2022. October 15 + 16, 2022 November 13, 2022 December 11, 2022 (plus one home-study day to be complete by 11/12 with LIVE Prenatal + Postnatal Yoga class observations) October 15 + 16 | 9am - 5pm PT November 13 + December 11th | 9am – 6pm PT (plus a daily one hour wellness break)

About the provider
Jane Austin has worked with pregnant people and their families since 1990. She is a certified yoga teacher and trainer. Jane is the founder and director of Mama Tree, a prenatal yoga school dedicated to educating yoga teachers, doulas and midwives on how to use the tools of yoga to support pregnant people and new parents in all stages of the childbearing year and beyond. She weaves her experience as a midwife, doula, childbirth educator and mother into her work. Jane’s teacher training program attracts students from all over the world interested in learning how to utilize the practice of yoga to support pregnant and new parents physically, mentally and emotionally. By training teachers, it is her hope to make yoga accessible to anyone who wants to experience the benefits of this ancient and powerful tradition. Jane also teaches the Yoga in Pregnancy component of many yoga teacher training schools and served as the perinatal director of Yoga Tree in San Francisco. She currently teaches yoga to over 200 mamas a week, and her mission is to offer pregnant folks and new parents a mindful, supportive and nourishing environment using both humor and compassion to create a sacred but authentic place to connect to themselves and their babes inside and out. Jane has continued her commitment of supporting mamas and their families by co-creating Mamas Self Care retreats and workshops with Stephanie Forster and Katie Cariffe. It is her goal to help mamas prioritize self care in all its forms as an essential component of motherhood.
