Melanie Powell

Hello my name is Melanie Powell and I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula and a Childbirth Educator in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex I first felt drawn to this work in my childhood many years before I even knew what a doula was or anything about postpartum or the transition to parenthood. As life moved on I went to Texas Woman's University where I got my bachelors in elementary education but felt called to a more servant role. I was a caregiver for many years for individuals with disabilities and worked as an autism therapist. Finally in 2022 when I was preparing to have my daughter l left the world of autism to be a stay at home mom and really be there for my daughter. I envisioned the perfect birth surrounded by my husband mother and mother-in-law. Well needless to say that is not how things turned out I was left without support and even a voice in the labor room as medical intervention after medical intervention was forced upon me. Now that my daughter is older and attending preschool I wanted to give back to my community in a very unique way and answer the call that I had received so many years ago to support other moms and babies as they transition into their new roles. Even though i am located in Grand Prairie I will serve a majority of the metroplex and offer virtual childbirth education classes. Pregnancy Birth and Postpartum is hard. Let me support you
