Kahla was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is a wife and mother of three, one daughter and two sons, ages 13, 7, and 3. Kahla's own experience during the birth of her first child led her to discover her passion for supporting others on their journey through pregnancy, birth and beyond. After a somewhat traumatic first birth experience, Kahla and her husband made the decision to hire a doula for their second child's birth. It was during this experience that Kahla recognized the profound impact a doula can have on the birthing process. Her newfound passion for empowering and supporting expectant mothers and families led her to become a doula herself in 2017. Kahla completed her Doula Training Course through DONA International. In the seven years since, Kahla has been a steadfast presence in the Jacksonville birth community serving families in hospital, home and birth center settings. She understands the profound, life long impact of childbirth experiences. Kahla has supported over 100 families as they brought new life into the world, with many more expectant mothers awaiting her support. Her heartfelt passion knows no bounds. Hello! My name is Tessa and I have lived in Tampa my entire life. I did my training with MaternityWise Institute and finished in May of 2024. I believe in a peaceful, no-judgment birth experience for my clients. I am a christian and would love to involve my faith in my work with clients BUT-*I will not bring my religion into our time together at your request :)* I have read many books and surrounded myself with knowledge on how to assist in hospital and home birth/birthing center births. I am learned in natural pain relief and have much experience with new borns. I am also able to help emotionally and physically with an epidural. I am also a birth assistant at a birth center. Whether we work together or not, I hope you have a peaceful, stress-free pregnancy and birth :)
