I am 33 weeks pregnant with my first baby girl and plan to deliver in the hospital. I am looking for a supportive, experienced doula who is comfortable working with a medically complex pregnancy. I have POTS, vasovagal syncope, iron deficiency anemia, and have experienced frequent dizziness, near-fainting episodes, tachycardia, and palpitations during pregnancy. I have been evaluated by cardiology and have a normal echocardiogram and no significant heart condition, but I still experience symptoms and anxiety related to labor and delivery. My goal is to remain flexible with my birth plan and do what is safest for both me and my baby. I would like to attempt a vaginal delivery if possible, but I am open to a C-section if medically necessary or if labor becomes difficult to tolerate. I am nervous about procedures such as IV placement, epidurals, and surgery and would appreciate emotional support, advocacy, comfort measures, and guidance throughout labor and delivery.
