Jaden is a birth doula, a Lamaze childbirth educator and a breastfeeding peer counselor. She has experience working with couples, un-partnered parents, BIPOC families, interracial/intercultural families, LGBTQIA+ families, medicated/unmedicated births, cesarean births, high + low risk birthing people, advanced maternal age, survivors of domestic violence, survivors of sexual abuse, and larger bodied birthing people. Jaden is a firm believer that everyBODY deserves the right to bodily autonomy and choice. EveryBODY deserves access to a doula. Jaden has strong interests in herbal and natural remedies and enjoys grounding herself in nature. When she isn’t spending her time learning or at a birth, she is either spending quality time with her two pups, Bear and Junie, nose deep in a book, or practicing her (not so perfect) yoga flow! Her calm presence changes the energy in every room she steps into.

Hiring a birth doula was a game-changer for us. Learning comfort measures to support my wife was invaluable when contractions started. At the hospital, I saw the unique benefits of having the nurses and a doula. They offered different kinds of help, but both were crucial. Takeda, our doula, was acted as a bodyguard to secure the placenta. Highly recommend this support for any couple.

We did the Sacredsong package with Gabe. I wish that everyone could have access to the support that Gabe provided during our prenatal, birth and postpartum experience. She answered all of our many questions through out and offered answers to the questions we didn't even know to ask. We felt as prepared as we could be before the birth. And when baby came a couple weeks early Gabe was great at helping over the phone during contractions then transition to the hospital for the birth. She helped guide me and my spouse throughout the contractions and into the birth of our first child. She made sure we understood and communicated clearly with the midwives through out. My spouse and I are incredibly grateful she was our support person for the birth and then for postpartum. The follow up session a few days after we got home was really helpful to be able to talk through and process the birth. She was great at teaching my partner how to belly bind and guide them to help support my recovery. If we decide to have another child Gabe would be one of the first people we reached out to to get back on her books. And I have already recommended her to a couple friends. My husband wanted me to add that he felt without Gabe there to support him he would have had a more difficult time. But Gabe was able to support both of us and so he was able to be more mentally and physically present especially during the hardest parts of labor.

My name is Christina, and I have been a doula since 2011. I have always had a deep passion for helping expectant mothers, and being a doula has been a very rewarding calling in my life. While living in Chicago in 2011, I pursued my doula training through DONA International and also attended Bradley childbirth education courses, as part of my training. I worked with the Chicago Volunteer Doulas in four Chicago hospitals, served private clients, and became a New Moms Group facilitator. I moved to Boston in 2012 and continued to be a doula, while working at a national maternal and child health nonprofit. I also received a Master of Public Health degree and specialized in Maternal and Child Health. I loved working toward my degree, as I became up-to-date on all the growing research that affects moms and babies, working extensively on the website birthbythenumbers.org. In the spring of 2014, I attained my certification in Lamaze Childbirth Education and loved being an educator for new families. In 2017, I became certified in Spinning Babies, a skill set I deeply value. Spinning Babies helped me to re-define progress in labor and how to reverse a stalled labor. In 2020, my husband and I moved to Durham, NC and I now do birth work in the Triangle area. My approach to childbirth education and birth doula services is that the client has all the information they need to make their own informed decision about their birth. I am also a lifelong Catholic and help many Catholic families in the Triangle.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Nalani care for our two children, ages 2 and 5, and I truly cannot speak highly enough about her. From the moment she arrived, she brought warmth, patience, and a calming presence into our home. Both of our children immediately gravitated toward her, and it was clear that she has a natural talent for working with kids of all ages. Nalani kept our children engaged with fun, educational, and creative play that was perfectly tailored to their age levels and personalities. Whether it was arts and crafts with our 5-year-old, imaginative games, or outdoor play in the backyard, she made every day feel special and exciting. She also has a wonderful way of encouraging gentle behavior, kindness, and routines — which we saw reflected in our kids even after her time with them. In addition to playtime, Nalani handled school and daycare pickups with ease and reliability. We always felt confident knowing our kids were in safe hands, even when our schedules changed or ran late. She maintained clear and consistent communication, which gave us peace of mind throughout the day. We appreciated her flexibility and willingness to work around our family's needs. Around the house, Nalani was incredibly helpful with light housekeeping related to the children. She kept their spaces tidy, handled their laundry, helped with snack and meal prep, and always made sure things were in order by the time we got home. Her support made a noticeable difference in our daily flow and helped us feel more organized and less stressed. Overall, Nalani has been a true blessing to our family. She is dependable, nurturing, and genuinely cares about the well-being and development of the children she looks after. We are so grateful for the time our children spent with her and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family in search of a trustworthy and loving nanny.

I took on the role of nurturer fairly early in life. As the oldest of 8 I lovingly stepped into the big sister role to help guide my siblings by displaying great leadership. In 2014 I became a mother and it was during this experience that I discovered my calling for birth work. Since, for the last 11 years, I have devoted time to being a student in midwifery, becoming trauma informed, and expanding my inclusive services, to widen my scope of support and care. " I will continue to help recreate the way we interact and think about birth, more importantly, physiological birth, as it pertains to people that look like me. We deserve to experience birth void of trauma." - Yeyo
